Ultraviolette is finally launching its highly-anticipated F77 Mach 2 electric sports bike. This enhanced and upgraded version elevates Ultraviolette’s electric sports bike F77, which currently reigns as the leading choice in India for electric motorcycle capabilities and distance covered, to a whole new standard. With its debut coming about 18 months after the original release, the Mach 2 is set to deliver substantial enhancements. While Ultraviolette has kept details under wraps, speculation and leaks hint at significant improvements in various aspects. This launch could shake up the electric motorcycle sector in a big way.
One of the most anticipated upgrades for the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is a potential increase in range. The standard F77 Recon currently offers a respectable range of up to 307 kilometres (based on the Indian Drive Cycle). However, the F77 Mach 2 is expected to surpass this figure.
While the exact method for achieving this extended range remains to be seen, Ultraviolette will likely introduce a new, optimised riding mode rather than implement major changes to the existing 10.3 kWh ‘SRB10’ battery pack. This optimised mode could prioritise efficiency over raw power output, allowing riders to cover longer distances on a single charge.
The current Electric two-wheeler features a mid-mounted electric motor producing 27 kW (around 39 bhp) and 95 Nm of peak torque. This power output significantly increases to 30.2 kW (approx. 40 bhp) and 100 Nm of peak torque in the top-spec F77 Limited Edition.
The F77 Mach 2 is expected to further elevate these performance figures. A recent promotional teaser hints at a higher top speed, potentially exceeding the 152 kmph limit of the F77 Limited Edition. This would solidify the F77 Mach 2's position as a leader in the electric sports bike segment.
Beyond the anticipated improvements in power and range, the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 might also receive a comprehensive software upgrade. This could introduce a range of new features designed to enhance the rider experience.
A significant addition could be hill-hold assist, a feature missing from the original F77. Hill Hold Assist would be a super helpful addition, especially for riders who encounter hilly areas. It would basically act like an electronic parking brake for motorcycles, preventing it from rolling backwards when you stop on a slope.
Other cool possibilities could be better ways to connect your phone to the bike and a more user-friendly dashboard.
With the official launch of the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 happening today, all the exciting details regarding its specifications, features, and pricing will be revealed. Stay tuned for a comprehensive report following the launch event in Bengaluru, providing a closer look at the next generation of Ultraviolette's electric mobility.
