TVS Raider: Which Variant is Worth Buying?

TVS Motor Company introduced the 125cc TVS Raider motorbike in India in 2021. It is a sporty commuter bike for young consumers searching for a stylish and reasonably priced motorbike. The Raider has a split-seat configuration, a sharp and edgy design, athletic graphics, and LED headlamps and taillamps.

There are three different variants of the Raider available, mentioned below.

3 TVS Raider Variants - Which One to Choose?

Single Seat Variant

The TVS Raider Single Seat is a variant of the TVS Raider that comes with a single seat instead of the split-seat arrangement found in the other variants. This variant is aimed at customers who prefer a more sporty and aggressive riding position and do not need the pillion seat.

The TVS Raider, Single Seat variation, has an alloy wheel design, a digital instrument screen, LED headlamps, and a single seat. This variant consists of a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine attached to a 5-speed gearbox with a power output of 11.1PS and 11 Nm torque. The Striking Red colour scheme is the only colour available for the TVS Raider Single Seat, which costs about Rs. 93,719 (ex-showroom).

Split Seat

The TVS Raider Split Seat is a variant of the TVS Raider that comes with a split seat arrangement, which adds to the sporty and aggressive look of the motorcycle. In addition, the split seat design provides improved comfort for both the rider and pillion and adds to the overall appeal of the bike. The split seat is similar in mechanicals and features to the single seat, but the pillion seat is better in the Split seat variant.

A 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with a 5-speed gearbox in TVS Raider Split Seat generates 11.1PS of power and 11 Nm of torque. The bike has a 5-step adjustable shock absorber at its rear and a telescopic fork suspension up front. It has alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, a USB charging connector, an engine cutoff button, and premium-looking graphics.

The TVS Raider Split Seat variant is available in a range of colours. It gets three additional colour schemes: Fiery Yellow, Blazing BlueWicked Black, and the Striking Red colour. The bike is priced at around Rs 94,719

SX

The top-of-the-line TVS Raider SX motorbike model was introduced in India in 2021. However, the Raider SX is a more expensive option since it has several enhancements and extra features above the standard version.

The same 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that powers the TVS Raider SX and a 5-speed gearbox cranks out 11.1PS of power and 11 Nm of torque. It has tubeless tyres, alloy wheels, a telescopic fork suspension up front, and a 5-step adjustable shock absorber at the back.

The Raider SX differs from the standard model because of its upgrades and added features available. It has a complete LED headlight and tail lamp configuration, improved visibility and enhances the bike's aesthetic appeal. It also has TVS SmartXonnect technology, enabling riders to access several information and services via a smartphone app and a completely digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.

The bike is available in two colour options - Fiery Yellow and Wicked Black. The TVS Raider SX is substantially more costly than the ordinary models, costing around Rs. 1,00,820 (ex-showroom). However, it has numerous features and modifications elevate it to a superior product, appealing to buyers searching for a stylish and feature-rich motorbike in the 125cc category.

TVS Raider Rivals

Overall, the TVS Raider is a well-built motorbike with features that provide excellent value for money. Its rivals include the Honda SP 125, Hero Glamour, Bajaj Pulsar 125, and Yamaha FZ-S Fi V3
