TVS has quietly introduced a new variant of the Raider 125 motorcycle in India. This new version features drum brakes at both ends and is priced at Rs. 84,469 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is now the most affordable model in the Raider 125 lineup, costing Rs. 11,000 less than the single-seat variant. Let’s know more about this new variant:
The new Raider 125 Drum variant retains the same design as the other versions. It is available in two striking colours, including Red and Wicked Black. Moreover, the bike includes several modern features like an LED headlight, an LCD display, and different ride modes.
Apart from this, the Raider 125 Drum shares other components with higher models. It also comes with a single-piece seat, and all-LED lighting, and retains the same stylish look.
TVS Raider 125 Drum variant is powered by the same 124.8cc air-cooled engine. This engine produces 11.2 bhp and 11.2 Nm of torque. Furthermore, it is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The bike continues to offer a smooth ride with telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. The Raider 125 has been a popular choice due to its balance of affordability, style, and practicality.
The introduction of the drum brake variant comes at a time when the 125cc motorcycle segment is growing rapidly. Competitors like the Hero Xtreme 125R and the Honda Shine 125 are doing well in the market. In August 2024, TVS sold 37,249 units of the Raider 125, showing its popularity among buyers. Meanwhile, Hero sold 14,326 units of the Xtreme 125R, and Honda Shine led the segment with 1,29,907 sales. So, with this affordable variant, Raider 125 is aiming to be the leader in the 125cc segment.
