TVS Apache RTR 310 Review: Most advanced TVS Bike

The TVS Apache RR 310, the company's largest displacement motorbike, has been on the market for over 6 years. Over the years, the manufacturer has continuously improved the bike. However, it has yet to produce more products with the same engine.

Everything is changing with the release of the Apache RTR 310, which is RR 310's naked version. Instead of merely giving it a superficial makeover, the manufacturer has enhanced this with market-first features. The reduction in price compared to the RR 310 is also a major feature.

Here are our initial thoughts on the bike based on all the information we have gathered!

Exciting Design

The headlight unit has to be the main talking point in the design department. The headlight unit of the RTR 310 has two tiny LED DRLs and cuts off the fairing. The primary lights are also divided in the middle by a black element.

The RTR 310 has 3 colour variations and reminds of Bumblebee from Transformers in its Fury Yellow guise. Dynamic lighting is a great addition made to the bike by TVS. The headlight illumination and throw can be adjusted automatically based on the motorcycle's speed. If desired, one may also disable this choice from the menu on the digital console.

The gasoline tank design shows that TVS chose a sharper design language. The split seats are more comfortable with a modular look.

A Fresh Instrument Cluster

Like the RR 310, TVS chose a 5-inch TFT, multi-colour instrument cluster for the Apache RTR 310. However, it is oriented horizontally instead of vertically. It presents a sizable amount of data in a very readable way.

To go about the menu, you can utilise the switches on the handlebar's left side. The display theme changes as the ride modes are changed. You may enable functions like traction control, headlamp lighting, temperature seat arrangement, and more, in addition to changing the screen's fundamental display-related parameters.

A Responsive Engine

Upsides:

  • With the RTR 310, you get the well-known 312.12 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering improved outputs.
  • The engine produces 35.1 horsepower & 28.7 Nm.
  • The 5 kg less weight certainly makes a difference while riding.

Drawbacks:

  • The buzz can be heard through the handlebars, footpegs, and, to a lesser extent, through the seat when you approach 6000 rpm.

Track Experience

Upsides:

  • The bike seems more agile on the track than the RR 310.
  • It makes hanging out and switching sides simpler while negotiating chicanes.
  • The bike maintained good levels of grip despite the track being rather damaged and rough.
  • You also have the option of short gearing and a strong bi-directional quick-shifter.
  • TVS also incorporates Race Tuned Dynamic Stability Control (RT DSC) along with the bike.
  • (RT DSC) includes the cornering ABS, traction control, rear-lift control, wheelie control, and other features. Customers who want to push the bike to its limits may find it useful.

Drawbacks:

  • While TVS advertises the RTR 310's peak speed at 150 kmph, a speedometer reading of 160 kmph was observed.
  • The brakes have enough bite to quickly and safely reduce your speed from trip digit speeds to 30–40 kmph.
  • However, the rear brake is underwhelming.

Conclusion

Many innovative and fiercely competitive motorcycles have recently been in the 300-500 cc range. The RTR 310, with a starting price of Rs 2.43 lakh, will be a popular choice for those looking for a sophisticated & fashionable bike for city commuting. The BTO kits can offer extra features for those who desire them without costing more than Rs 3 lakh. The amount of vibration you experience after 6000 rpm is the main issue with the bike right now. The remaining components are excellent.
