Top 5 Scooters Launched at Auto Expo 2023

The biggest Indian auto show returned after a 3-year hiatus due to the infamous Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. The media days of Auto Expo 2023 have ended, and so have all the unveilings and launches. During these 2 action-packed media days, we saw over 75 new launches. The auto event is now open to the public till 18 January 2023.

Recently, India overtook Japan to take 3rd place for being the largest auto market globally, right behind the US and China. So entering the ‘Top 3’ list places India under the spotlight & at the centre of the automobile world.

Liger X and Liger X+
 

Liger Mobility

First on our list has to be the world’s first self-balancing electric scooters launched by Mumbai-based startup Liger Mobility. Liger X and Liger X+ are revolutionary scooters that come with a learner mode that gives the scooter the ability to balance itself. In addition to this, both electric scooters come equipped with lithium-ion battery packs. Although the Liger X comes with a removable battery pack, the Liger X+ doesn’t. Liger X's removal lithium-ion battery is chargeable in just 3 hours, letting the vehicle cover 60 km on a single charge. The electric scooter can achieve a top speed of 65 kmph. Contrarily, the Liger X+ has a range of a whopping 100 km and has a non-replaceable battery pack that can completely charge within 4.5 hours. 
 

Ampere Primus

Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd. unveiled their new Primus electric scooter at the 2023 Auto Expo event. The EV boasts a claimed range of 120 km on a single charge. Ampere Primus features a similar styling as the Magnus electric scooter. In addition, the company launched the EV with 4 new dual-tone colours. Primus has a new 3kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery. The scooter claims an IDC range of 120 km and a top speed of 75 kmph. Primus can take 4 hours to charge completely when charged through a regular 5A Socket. However, when plugged into a fast-charging 30A socket, the scooter can charge fully in only 2 hours. The Ampere Primus comes with 3 riding modes - City, Power and Eco along with Reverse riding mode. 

TVS iQube ST


TVS IQube ST

At the Auto Expo 2023 event, TVS introduced TVS iQube ST, the top variant of the lineup. The electric scooter offers additional equipment and a much better and longer riding range. This scooter is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after scooters for daily commutes. iQube ST boasts the largest battery pack from the lineup yet. It has a battery capacity of 4.56 kWh and has a rated power of 3 kW and torque of 140 Nm In addition, iQube ST delivers the highest riding range of 110 km in Power Mode and 145 km in Eco Mode. When connected to a fast charger, this EV can charge within 2 hours and 30 minutes only. Moreover, this electric scooter can reach the highest speed of 82 kmph effortlessly.
 

Joy E-Bike MIHOS
 

Joy E -bike Scooter

WardWizard, the parent company of the EV manufacturer Joy E-bike, launched their new electric scooter- MIHOS. The electric scooter will have a starting price of Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom) at the 2023 Auto Expo event. Mihos is built with a 74V40Ah Li-Ion-based battery, boasting an energy capacity of 2.5kWh. According to the company, the EV delivers a range of approximately 100 km on a single charge. Moreover, Mihos can reach 40 kmph from still in less than 7 seconds. Another feature of the electric scooters is its smart BlueTooth connectivity, letting the users control the scooter with the Joy E-Connect app. Mihos further features a twin-disc brake with an electric braking system, ensuring the scooter takes the shortest distance possible to stop. Functionalities, including antitheft, reverse mode, and GPS system, are also available in the electric scooter Mihos.

LML Star

LML Scooter

LML Emotion made its much-awaited comeback at the 2023 Auto Expo event with its electric vehicles. The brand revealed its LML Star electric scooter, which looks quite futuristic. It gets a dual-toned black & white theme along with a pop of red accents throughout. This electric scooter comes with a strong motor and battery, enhancing the drive-off experience for the users. To ensure maximum safety, LML Star EV is built with ABS, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), reverse park assist and more. In addition, the scooter features a customisable interactive display that can be modified as per customer needs. LML Star also comes with ambient lighting, backlights, indicators and integrated DRLs. In addition to that, the EV also features a 360-degree camera, LED lighting and haptic feedback response.
