We are only 8 months into 2023 but only halfway through a slew of launches & debuts scheduled this year. In a span of 8 months, we have seen a wide range of 2-wheelers, from Karizma to the new TVS X electric scooter.
The recent launch of the new 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has made the start of September much more happening for the Indian Automotive Industry. And now multiple brands are now setting for the upcoming launches in September. Some of these highly anticipated launches include - the 2023 KTM 390 Duke, Suzuki V-Strom 800DE & Aprilia RS440.
And before they are launched, let’s have a look at what these models might have in store for us!
2023 KTM Duke 390 will be getting a whole new tech & design upgrade. Starting with its heart, this naked beauty will be powered by a highly responsive 399cc single-cylinder. This engine will be capable of churning out a thrilling 44 bhp peak power output & 39 Nm peak torque. But that's not it, the bike will be equipped with a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch & a quick shifter.
Now, let’s take a look at the chassis of this beauty, which has also gone through a complete transformation. It now gets a new powder-coated steel trellis frame. Additionally, the 43 mm USD front forks are now adjustable & the monoshock will be preloaded with rebound settings available too.
Safety will be out of the question with the new state-of-the-art braking system with a new 320 mm front disc & a 240 mm rear disc. Moreover, the company has fitted the bike with dual-channel corning & Supermoto ABS to give you that extra peace of mind.
As for the most interesting part - Tech, The 2024 model offers 3 riding modes - Rain, Street & track. Giving you control to choose your adventure as you want. Moreover, the addition of a slick 5-inch colour TFT instrument console keeps you connected.
About the pricing, we are expecting it to carry a higher price tag in the Indian market as opposed to the KTM 390 Duke (Rs 2.38 lakhs). But given all these fantastic upgrades, it is definitely going to be worth every penny!
Suzuki has built a true adventure enthusiast’s dream with its upcoming V-Strom 800DE model. This beast will be powered by the brand-new 776 cc parallel-twin engine, and it packs a punch with a maximum power output of 82 bhp & 78 Nm peak torque. This beasty engine will be further tuned to a slick 6-speed gearbox, offering riders the ultimate control.
As for the other impressive range of specs, it includes a whopping 220 mm ground clearance & a comfortable seat height of 855 mm. This will make your adventures much more comfortable & relaxing. Suzuki V-Storm 800DE will be rolling on a 21-inch front wheel & other major upgrades.
As for looks, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE features elevated handlebar guards for a more relaxed riding position, a distinctive beak-screaming adventure and, finally, a sleek & short windscreen. It further features a pannier mount, a single-piece saddle, a transparent visor & vertically stacked LED headlights.
Price-wise, we are expecting it to start around Rs 12 lakhs & will take on competitors like the BMW F850GS & the Triumph Tiger 900 in India.
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia is revving things up with the RS440. This sporty machine is set to be powered by a potent 440cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that unleashes an impressive 48bhp. Coupled with a six-speed transmission featuring a slipper clutch & quick-shifter, this bike promises an exhilarating ride with a top speed of around 180 km/h.
The RS440 is loaded with cutting-edge features, including ride-by-wire, traction control, & cornering ABS. Safety standards for India may include a saree guard, & the bike could offer an anti-lock braking system, an all-LED lighting system, a fully digital TFT display with smartphone connectivity, multiple ride modes, & more.
Expect the RS440 to feature a mono-shock at the rear & an upside-down front fork for impressive handling. Braking will likely be handled by one front & one rear disc with ABS. The bike will roll on 17-inch alloy wheels, possibly equipped with road-biased TVS Eurogrip tires. Look out for sleek brake rotors, a radial front brake calliper, & lightweight alloy rims.
When it hits the market, the RS440 will take on rivals like the KTM RC 390, the Kawasaki Ninja 400, & the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3. It's an exciting addition to the sportbike segment.
