The sales of two wheelers in FY 2024 increased by 11.48% compared to the previous year. A total of 1,24,18,128 units were sold, up from 1,11,38,889 units in FY23. This growth amounted to an additional 12,79,239 units sold during the year.
In FY 2024, Splendor and Activa are the top selling two wheelers from the new models and favourable market conditions. Their popularity surged due to updated designs, improved features, and increased purchases in rural areas.
Additionally, the Pulsar, Honda Shine and HF Deluxe are following the lead. These two models dominated the market, reflecting evolving consumer preferences and government policies supporting the automotive sector.

Hero MotoCorp's Splendor maintained its position as the best-selling two-wheeler globally in 2024. Hero Splendor shines again with consistent monthly sales dominance. Its sales increased by 1.15% YoY, totalling 32,93,324 units. Splendor's enduring popularity and market strength give it a significant 26.51% share among the top 10 best-selling models.
Activa secured the second spot among the top-selling two-wheelers in 2024 by selling 22,54,537 units. This scooter marked a growth of 4.88% over FY23. Moreover, Activa's success hints at a potential electric variant, holding an 18.16% share in the top 10 list. This aligns with the industry trend of enhancing sales through innovation.
Honda Shine arose as a notable motorcycle in the commuter section, seeing a significant 22.66% YoY sales increment. Its sales arrived at 14,82,957 units, up from 12,09,025 units in FY23. This addresses a volume growth of 2,73,932 units. This growth highlights Shine's rising popularity among customers.
Pulsar got the fifth spot in the top-selling bike list for FY24. Around 14,10,974 units were sold, a critical 37.11% increment compared with FY23. In addition, the organisation is reliably making efforts to grow and refresh the Pulsar range.
HF Deluxe experienced a slight decline in YoY sales, dropping by 1.70% in FY24. Sales decreased to 10,34,178 units from 10,52,043 units sold in FY23. Despite this marginal decrease, HF Deluxe remains a significant player in the two-wheeler market. It maintains consumer interest with its reliable performance.
Jupiter scooter experienced a notable 15.81% increase in sales during FY24. Sales rose to 8,44,863 units from 7,29,546 units in FY23, representing a volume growth of 1,15,317 units. Jupiter continues to attract consumers with its appealing features and performance. It has a 6.80% share on the list of the top 10 most selling two wheelers in 2024.
Access scooters witnessed a significant 27.21% year-on-year sales increase in FY24, reaching 6,34,563 units. The newly detailed Suzuki Access 125 facelift introduces enhanced features and updated technology, reflecting the brand's commitment to innovation and meeting consumer preferences for improved performance and functionality.
The sales of Bajaj Platina dipped to 5,02,486 units in FY24 compared to 5,34,017 units last year. It has a market share of 4.05%, which took it to 8th position in this list. Moreover, the affordable price and superior mileage of Bajaj Platina 100 makes it easy for budget-conscious buyers to purchase.
TVS XL saw a 9.11% YoY expansion in sales, arriving at 4,81,803 units. This development reflects customer interest in the model, which is known for its quality and performance. Additionally, the reliable performance of the TVS XL 100 features its appeal among purchasers.
At last, the TVS Raider achieved remarkable YoY growth in FY24. It has seen an impressive 99.86% to 4,78,443 units from 2,39,388 units sold in FY23. This significant surge underscores the model's growing popularity among consumers.
