The Unveiled Adventurous KTM 890 SMT - Now Available for International Markets

KTM 890 now available for lunch in the international markets, comes with upgraded features and specifications.

The new Adventurous KTM 890 SMT bike is set to be unveiled for the International markets. The company calls it the Supermoto Tourer. KTM 890 shares some similarities with SMT 890 Adventure R, upon which it is based. It is anticipated that the 890 SMT will not enter the Indian market any time soon. Let us discuss some of its features. 

Design of KTM 890 SMT

The 2023 KTM 890 SMT is basically an adventure tourer bike. The bike gets a wide handlebar, large seat, long travel suspension and 17-inch alloy wheels. The new motorcycle draws on a re-tuned KTM 890 LC8c platform with a street-focussed chassis, adjustable suspension, premium tyres and brakes. The CroMo steel frame of the KTM 890 SMT features a tighter geometry and matches the KTM 890 Adventure.

The motorcycle is available with WP Apex 43 mm suspension at front and WP Apex Monoshock at rear. The weight of KTM 890 SMT is 194 kg, and ground clearance is 227 mm. The motorcycle is equipped with a high-end steering damper and a 15.8-litre fuel tank. The manufacturer claims a range of 343 km and fuel consumption of 4.6 liters per 100 kilometers.

Features of KTM 890 SMT

The new KTM 890 SMT features full-LED lighting, Bluetooth-enabled colour TFT display, three ride modes (Rain, Street and Sport), optional track mode, cornering traction control and lean-sensitive ABS with Supermoto mode. It also offers optional features like heated grips, motor slip regulation (MSR), quick-shifter and cruise control system.

Engine Specifications

The new KTM 890 SMT engine is powered by an 890 cc parallel twin, liquid-cooled LC8 engine. This engine produces 105 hp power at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 100 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It will be offered with a 6-speed transmission. In addition, KTM has worked on the bike's airbox and made it compact.

It is reported that the KTM model will be available at KTM dealers in the International markets from April 2023. However, KTM 890 will not be available in North America for the model year 2023. In addition, this cruiser bike will not make it in the Indian market, as of now.
