Spy Shots River EV New Electric Scooter Leaked: Here’s All We Know

River EV, a firm based in Bangalore, is currently designing a prototype electric scooter. Spy photos of the latest electric scooter have recently leaked online.

Electric scooters are all the rage these days, and we hear about more fresh entrants into the electric two-wheeler market every day. River, a Bengaluru-based EV startup, is one of the most recent to enter the fray. Spy photos of the new upcoming scooters by River EV have emerged, and it appears to be taking a different path than other electric two-wheelers on the market.

New Electric Scooter Spied

As it is unofficially known, the River EV appears to be influenced by Yamaha Neo’s electric scooter. The effect is amplified by the River EV’s fairly similar front apron design, which houses twin quadrilateral LED DRLs and headlamp elements.

The test mule was fully camouflaged, leaving design features to the viewer’s imagination. Unlike the Yamaha Neo, the River EV scooter has a robust yet minimalist appearance. This is especially true for side panels with strong black accents. In addition, a single-piece grab handle appears to offer provision for mounting a luggage rack.

The rear number plate holder on the test mule is zip connected to this grabrail. The production-spec model will have a more organised layout. This scooter’s instrumentation consists of a horizontally set-out free-standing digital display, which is most likely a touchscreen unit. The battery specifications are unknown at this time. It is outfitted with a hub motor positioned in the rear wheel.

River electric scooter has standard telescopic front forks, while the rear shock absorbers could be dual or single-sided. In addition, there is a disc brake in front and a disc brake in the rear since there are two brake fluid reservoirs located on the handlebar. In terms of handlebars, the River EV has clip-on handlebars similar to those found on sporty motorbikes.

What To Expect?

A touchscreen is unlikely to be included in the forthcoming River electric scooter. This is because, as with non-touch TFT screens, there are two buttons beside the display to cycle between. The River EV is a step-through scooter with all of the functionality that it entails.

River EV is a startup electric 2W brand launched in 2020 by Aravind Mani and Vipin George. The brand’s concept is believed to be multi-utility electric scooters. According to reports, the River electric scooter may have a range of up to 180 km and a top speed of up to 80 km/h with a choice of battery pack sizes. The launch could take place in 2023.
