YZF-R7, a revered middle-weight supersport, was showcased by India Yamaha Motor at the Indian MotoGP at the Buddh International Circuit. The motorcycle was first revealed in India in July at the MMRT in Chennai. In addition, it is estimated to be launched at the end of the year.
The design of the YZF-R7 was influenced by its larger litre-class sibling, the YZF-R1. It has a single projector LED headlight, perfectly concealed behind the main air inlet, surrounded by stylish LED DRLs. This gives it a radical appearance. The sculpted fairing, powerful fuel tank & upswept tail section with big scoops give its side a stylish & muscular appearance. The R7, however, only has dual-channel ABS & an optional quick shifter, unlike its litre-class counterpart, which is stuffed with electronics.
YZF-R7 is powered by a 689cc twin-cylinder engine, producing 73bhp at 8,750 rpm and 67Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is also paired with a six-speed transmission. In addition, this bike has a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. This bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 120/70 front & 180/55 rear tyres. YZF-R7 is supported by a monoshock & non-adjustable USD front forks. Dual 298mm discs up front and a 245mm disc in the backdrop anchor simultaneously.
There is no information about the price. However, the Aprilia RS660 and the Honda CBR 650R are two rivals of the Yamaha YZF-R7.
