The Deliveries of Simple One will be commenced in a phased manner, starting from Bengaluru.
Simple Energy, an EV startup, has announced the commencement of deliveries for its Simple One electric scooter in the domestic market. The deliveries have started in phases, with Bengaluru customers being the first to receive their Electric scooters. The Simple One is priced at Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The company claims to accept more than one lakh bookings for its first offering. The Simple One made its local debut approximately two years ago, and the company took considerable time to validate the scooter for customer use.
According to Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, several changes are implemented in the Simple One electric scooter compared to the prototype showcased in August 2021. He expressed his delight at the commencement of deliveries, starting with customers in Bengaluru. Rajkumar highlighted the hard work and dedication of the team in creating a sustainable and efficient transportation option for customers. He expressed confidence in creating a delightful ownership experience. He also believed the Simple One would revolutionise the segment by contributing to a greener future.
The Simple One electric scooter boasts several impressive features. It claims to have the longest-riding range among all electric two-wheelers available for sale in India, with a claimed range of 212 km. In addition to its impressive range, the Simple One is equipped with various safety features, ensuring rider protection. Furthermore, the Simple One is described as the fastest electric two-wheeler in India. It can provide acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds, indicating its strong performance capabilities.
The Simple One electric scooter is the first to incorporate a thermal management system developed in collaboration with IIT-Indore. Additionally, Simple Energy, based in Bengaluru, reportedly works closely with authorised dealers. This collaboration aims to ensure timely deliveries of the Simple One to customers and provide efficient after-sales support.
According to the information, Simple Energy inaugurated its production facility in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, in early 2023. The facility has an installed annual capacity of 10 lakhs (1 million) units. Furthermore, Simple Energy has plans to expand its retail network across 40 to 50 cities, aiming to establish 160-180 retail outlets. The production facility's inauguration and the retail network's planned expansion reflect Simple Energy's efforts to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities.
