Once more, the eagerly anticipated Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been spotted undergoing road tests. According to the most recent spy photos, the two Himalayan 450 prototypes were seen without any disguise.
In November 2023, during the EICMA (International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition), it is anticipated that Royal Enfield will unveil the new Himalayan to the world. The brand-new Himalayan 450, a possible replacement for the Himalayan 411 with a lesser capacity, will undoubtedly be lighter and have strong off-road capabilities. Perhaps it will cost Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Even though the most recent model has been seen testing on roads a few times, the new spy photos reveal some fresh design cues that suggest it is considerably closer to a production-spec bike.
The Himalayan 450 will be the Himalayan ADV with more displacement. The new 450 shares some design cues with the current Himalayan, at least to some extent. With a more streamlined shape, new grab rails, a tall visor, steel tubes, a beak-style front fender, Jerry Can Holders up front, and a small luggage rack at the back, the RE Himalayan 450 boasts a modern appearance. There are spoked wheels on both ends, USD front forks, a mono-shock, and a front disc brake available. The wheels appear to be 21 inches in the front and 17 inches in the back.
Although the next model will get a brand-new digital LCD instrument cluster, the circular headlamps and rearview mirrors will likely remain in classic design. The Himalayan 450 also has split seats, a larger handlebar, a compact windscreen, and LED tail lamps, among other aesthetic characteristics.
Mechanically, the Himalayan 450 should produce about 40 bhp and 45 Nm of maximum torque when connected to a 6-speed transmission. An upgrade from the current air-cooled or oil-cooled engine would be a modern 450cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine. In terms of the gasoline tank's size, we estimate a minimum 15-litre capacity.
A slip-and-assist clutch, Bluetooth capability, a dual-channel ABS, and more are further noteworthy features. The Himalayan 450, which is anticipated to be introduced in India soon, will compete with models like the KTM 390 Adventure and the Yezdi Adventure.
