One of the biggest two-wheeler manufacturers in China, QJ Motor, is reportedly developing the SRK1000RR, a litre-class sportbike. According to several reports, the motorbike would go in production by next year and then be introduced in a few regions.
The QJ Motor is rumoured to collaborate with the Italian company MV Agusta to improve its litre-class model. Credit to the leaked type-approval paperwork from China, we already know some information about the bike. In addition, we also have a picture of a production-ready model, and it looks rather interesting!
The engine & chassis may be the same as an MV Agusta offering, even if the bodywork appears to be manufactured by QJ Motors only. While taking a closer look at the image, the superbike's hybrid chassis & single-sided swingarm strongly resemble the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RS.
Notably, the highly regarded 998cc, 205bhp, four-cylinder engine from the Brutale 1000 is not powering its angular fairing. It will instead be powered by a less potent 921cc, four-cylinder engine that will produce about 127bhp.
It's anticipated that QJ would produce this 921cc engine for the 921 S and GT, two MV Agusta throwback offerings. QJ will also use it for one of its own bikes in exchange. However, the SRK1000RR's general design will remain consistent with the smaller SRK-RR family of bikes already available in China.
Even if everything proceeds as planned, the QJ SRK1000RR is not likely to be released in India since it would not be a successful move for the company as such.
