Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of Ola Electric, has shared a video on Twitter that suggests a new potential update for the S1 electric scooter. The video shows a dash cam on the left mirror mount. We have some guesses about this update, and here they are.
On the dash cam screen's top left corner is 'OpenADAS'. This stands for Advanced Driver Assistance System. The screen also displays the 'nearest distance' reading which might use a sensor to determine how far the vehicle ahead is. The scooter's speed is also tracked; with these parameters, Ola could improve the cruise control system.
The current version of the Ola S1 Pro has a cruise control that keeps the same speed until it is switched off. But the new update might change that and make the cruise control adjust the speed according to the traffic ahead. Based on the tweet's details, this is a guess, and Ola has not confirmed anything yet.
The Ola S1 Pro electric scooter would become more enjoyable and secure to ride with the ADAS feature. However, the feature is still under testing, and the final design will also have to consider integrating it without using the mirror mount as in the test setup.
