There is much excitement about the coming KTM 390 SMC R superbike, which was spotted during testing. Thanks to a powerful single-cylinder engine and a very light chassis, the bike is expected to have great agility and performance on urban streets and winding roads. Aggressive styling, high-performance suspension, and advanced electronics look promising to be great additions to KTM. The fans couldn't wait to see how it would perform in the supermoto segment when it was to be launched.

We already know that KTM is going to launch its next-generation 390 Adventure model by early 2025. But guess what? There is more exciting news lined up. A test mule of the new KTM 390 SMC R supermoto bike has been tested in Europe before its official launch at EICMA 2024.
We know KTM is ready to roll out the next generation of the 390 Adventure in early 2025, but there's yet another exciting surprise waiting for us. A test mule of the upcoming KTM 390 SMC R supermoto bike has been spotted testing in Europe ahead of the official unveiling at EICMA 2024.
Regarding other changes, the new 390 SMC R has been slightly altered in terms of the chassis geometry, with modifications to the front suspension and wheel combination. The ADV was seen on 21/18-spoke wheels, but it is most likely to be fitted to stickier tyres and 17-inch alloy wheels. The positions of the handlebar and footrest have been changed to emulate its supermoto underpinning.
The KTM 390 SMC R will run the 399cc liquid-cooled LC4c engine, making 45.3 bhp and peak torque at 39 Nm. The motorcycle will come with a six-speed gearbox. Many electronic rider aids are likely to feature on this motorcycle, such as cornering ABS, traction control, launch control, multiple ride modes, and much more.
Like all KTM 390 variants, the new 390 SMC R will be mass-produced at Bajaj Auto's Chakan facility in Pune. Whether KTM will bring it to India is not is anybody's guess because the motorcycle is designed for developed markets like Europe and America. If it does launch here, the KTM 390 SMC R could be a unique offering in the market that no one currently offers.
