Launched: The Stylish Ducati Monster SP at Rs. 15.95 Lakh

The Ducati Monster is a legendary naked motorcycle running around for decades with a massive fan following worldwide. The launch of the top-spec SP variant, Ducati, targets riders looking for a high-performance track-oriented motorcycle. The SP Model is priced at Rs 15.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is significantly more expensive than the standard Monster, which is priced at Rs 12.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Specifications of Ducati Monster SP

The Ducati Monster SP has many modern features, including a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension, a carbon front mudguard, and a passenger seat cowl. It additionally features a quick-shifter and an up/down clutch, enabling smooth and simple gear changes. Moreover, the SP model has distinctive red and black colouring, providing an attractive look to the bike.

Latest Features in Ducati Monster SP 

The Monster SP has undergone significant changes to its suspension and braking hardware. It now features an Ohlins NIX 30 fork and Ohlins mono-shock, along with Brembo Stylema callipers that bite down upon twin 320 mm discs. The change in suspension units provides a taller seat height of 840 mm and a more cornering clearance as well.

Additionally, the Monster SP is 2 kg lighter than the standard bike, weighing 186 kg (wet), thanks to the new lightened subframe, carbon-fibre/titanium Termignoni muffler, and lithium-ion battery. Furthermore, Pirelli Rosso 4 tyres are used instead of the Rosso 3’s on the standard bike.

Ducati Monster SP Engine Capacity

The Monster SP powers a liquid-cooled, 937cc, L-twin engine that delivers 111 hp of power at 9,250 RPM and 93 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox coupling with a bidirectional quick-shifter. In addition, the bike includes:

  • Traction control
  • Wheelie control
  • Launch control
  • Power modes
  • Riding modes (including a new Wet riding mode)
  • And switchable dual-channel ABS, all controlled by a six-axis IMU.

Ducati Monster SP Price & Competitors

The Monster SP sits between the Supersport 950 and the Multistrada V2 in Ducati’s line-up, with its Rs. 15.95 lakh sticker price.The Monster SP gets a unique paint scheme inspired by the Ducati Desmosedici GP race bike and a colour-matched seat cowl. Its rivals include the soon-to-be-launched 2023 Street Triple RS in India
