The Scooter is available in two Models as Kymco Dink 125 and 150, will not launch in India.
The Kymco Dink, a new scooter model, is now available in two versions - 125 and 150. The sleek and contemporary design by the Taiwanese two-wheeler manufacturer is highly appealing to riders. The maxi-scooter styling deviates from the typical scooter designs available in the market, which is a refreshing change.
With a flat footboard, riders can stretch their legs comfortably while riding. The windscreen is sizeable and useful as it protects riders from wind and debris when riding. Additionally, the step-up seat and long wheelbase ensure a comfortable riding position for both the rider and the pillion.
The Kymco Dink possess LED headlamps and DRLs, making it an ideal ride during the nighttime with its excellent visibility. Its LED tail lamp also adds to its overall aesthetic appeal. Furthermore, the LCD screen instrumentation is a thoughtful addition, enabling the rider to monitor the scooter's vital information with ease.
The Kymco Dink's engine specifications seem to be impressive for a scooter, with both the 125 and 150 variants delivering decent power figures. Kymco Dink 125 uses a 124cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, the 11.5bhp output is quite decent for a scooter of this size. Kymco Dink 150, on the other hand, powers a 150 cc engine that delivers 15bhp, which is quite impressive and should provide better acceleration and top-end speed.
Despite the higher power output of the 150cc variant, it is commendable that Kymco has kept the weight of the scooter in check. At 127 kg, it is not significantly heavier than other 125cc scooters available in the Indian market. This should help in delivering a good power-to-weight ratio and provide agile handling characteristics.
The Kymco Dink comes equipped with 13-inch alloys and standard tyre sizes of 120/70 at the front and 130/70 at the rear, providing a good balance of stability and manoeuvrability commonly seen in most scooters in the Indian market. Discs at both ends ensure effective braking, backed up by the addition of dual-channel ABS as a standard safety feature, appealing to many potential buyers.
The Kymco Dink offers impressive engine specifications and adequate features, making it a well-rounded package. However, it is not set to launch in India. If you are searching for a similar scooter in the market, you may want to consider the Suzuki Burgman Street Models or Aprilia SXR 160. With its maxi-scooter styling, long step-up seat, and ample under-seat storage, the Kymco Dink is a practical and comfortable option for urban commuters.
