Kawasaki W230 Retro Bike Showcased: Rival RE Hunter 350

Kawasaki has introduced a new retro bike, the W230, to the Japanese market. This classic roadster follows the Estrella (W250), which was discontinued in 2017. The W230 was unveiled at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show alongside the Meguro S1. Both motorcycles are identical, differing only in badges, chrome, stickers, and color.

The W230 is expected to go on sale in Japan in fall 2024 (September to November). Moreover, it will compete with bikes like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 in the international market. Its old-school charm and straightforward design appeal to those who appreciate the vintage aesthetic of a modern motorcycle.

The Kawasaki W230 is another retro bike with a simple yet elegant design. It features circular LED headlights, two analogue consoles with a small digital display, and plenty of chrome parts, including the headlight bezel, exhaust, and handlebar. The bike has a white base paint with black stripes on the fuel tank and dual-tone seat covers.

Moreover, its spoke wheels have a chrome finish, giving it a classic look. The W230 also features fork gaiters and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. The LED headlights have a chrome ring, and the exhaust pipe is placed vertically with a chrome finish.

The bike’s design includes square taillights and circular halogen switch signals. Moreover, the seat height is less than 800mm, making it easy to handle. The W230 also features the iconic "W" badge on the fuel tank.

Kawasaki W230 Engine Performance

Kawasaki W230 is powered by a 233cc single-cylinder engine. It comes with a six-speed gearbox. Moreover, the bike has telescopic front forks with gaiters and dual rear shocks. It also features front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS for better safety. The wheels are spoke-type, with an 18-inch front and 17-inch rear setup. Furthermore, the W230 has a charming, old-school design that will appeal to mature riders.
