Journey of The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Till now

The Journey of Royal Enfield Classic 350 is royal like its name. It has remained one of the most popular motorcycles in India since its launch in 2009. A tribute to the classic British bikes of the 1950s, the Classic 350 is a motorbike with a vintage aesthetic. Here is a quick overview of the Classic 350's journey so far:

The J-Series

The J1D platform, a development of the UCE platform implemented in the previous Classic 350 models, is the basis upon which the new Classic 350 is constructed. A redesigned chassis and suspension configuration on the J1D platform results in more refined handling and ride quality.

The Classic 350's redesigned frame has been designed to provide more rigidity and stability at high speeds. Additionally, the bike has dual gas-charged shock absorbers at its rear and new 41mm telescopic forks up front, which increase comfort and handling. Furthermore, the redesigned platform makes better weight distribution possible, improving handling and maneuverability.

Along with dual-channel ABS as standard, the new Classic 350 has a redesigned braking system with bigger 300mm front and 270mm rear discs. Additionally, the bike has brand-new alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, which increase grip and lower the possibility of punctures.

Compared to the old UCE platform, the new J1D platform, on which the Classic 350 is constructed, provides several enhancements in handling, ride quality, and overall performance. Royal Enfield updated the Classic 350 while maintaining its classic shape and vintage look, thanks to the new platorm.

Engine Specifications

A 346 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with a maximum power output of 19.36PS at 5,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 28 Nm at 4,000 rpm powers the BS6 version of the Royal Enfield Classic 350. On the other hand, the new model comes with an upgraded 349cc single-cylinder. The air-cooled engine generates maximum power of 20.4 PS at 6,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 27 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

The new engine has greater power and is smoother and more polished than the old one. It shares an engine similar to the brand's recent models, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Hunter 350. However, it is simpler to drive in city traffic since the engine has fuel injection; it has been modified for increased low-end torque.

Due to the adoption of a new catalytic converter and enhanced combustion technology, the revised engine is also more effective than the old one. In addition, it is more hygienic than previous models and conforms with the most current emission standards.

Performance

Overall, the new engine on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 offers improved performance, refinement, and efficiency compared to the previous version and is a significant improvement over the older UCE engine.

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has undergone notable positive evolution while maintaining its classic charm. The new Classic 350 is built on a frame based on the smooth J-series, offering a much better and smooth ride quality. In addition, the updated engine is more powerful, efficient, and refined than the previous one and is based on the same engine platform as the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Hunter 350. The prices for the new model start at Rs 1,90,092 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Overall, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 has come a long way and continuously managed its iconic status in the Indian market. The new model offers significant improvements in performance, refinement, and ride quality and is worth considering for anyone looking for a classic and reliable motorcycle.
