Honda to Remove the G Tag in Future Scooters

The 6G Tag to be removed from Honda Activa!

Honda has decided to remove the "6G" tag from the name of its best-selling scooter, the Activa. However, there is no change in the Activa Scooters. The Activa will continue to be the same reliable 110 cc scooter as before.

The "G" tag was introduced by Honda with the Activa 3G in 2015, indicating updated versions of the scooter through the years. However, since the Activa 3G, there have only been two actual generational changes to the scooter. This could have led to confusion as to why Honda has decided to remove the "G" tag from Activa's name.

Reason for Removing the Tag - A New Marketing Move?

It appears that the removal of the "6G" tag is a marketing decision by Honda to simplify the name of its best-selling scooter and avoid customer confusion. The Activa will remain a reliable and popular choice in the Indian scooter market, with or without the "G" tag.

Activa is an important product for Honda in India, and the company cannot afford to make any mistakes with the scooter. To avoid confusion, it's possible that Honda could use the model year (MY) to differentiate upcoming Activa models from their previous versions. This would also align with how Honda has updated Activa in the past.

It's also likely that the new Activa models will come equipped with features to justify their premium pricing. The stricter emissions norms are expected to make the two-wheeler production more expensive. Honda, like other manufacturers, will have to pass on some of these costs to the customers. They will likely do so by offering additional features that improve the scooter's value proposition.

The Activa scooter is available in three different variants, catering to customers' diverse needs and preferences. These include the standard Activa with a 110cc motor, the more premium and powerful Activa 125, and the much-awaited Activa Electric.

Prices for the Honda Activa start at Rs. 75,347 (ex-showroom Delhi), but may vary on the basis of location and other factors. Interested users who want to purchase the Activa can contact their nearest Honda dealership or visit the company's website for more information on pricing and availability.
