Honda has patented the CBR250RR in India, indicating that they have protected its intellectual property rights for that particular model in the country. The filing of the patent suggests that Honda has considered the possibility of bringing the CBR250RR to India, but it does not guarantee its arrival. Honda may choose to launch the bike in India at a later date or decide not to introduce it at all.
The CBR250RR has several important features, including a liquid-cooled, 249cc parallel-twin engine. It produces 38.7hp of power and 23.3Nm of torque in the standard version and 42hp of power and 25 Nm of torque in the higher SP version. This engine of the bike is attached to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a quick-shifter. It's somewhat lighter than the KTM RC 390 at 166kg for the standard version and 168 kg for the SP version.
The fact that CBR250RR doesn't share major components with Honda's existing two-wheelers in India. It indicates that its introduction to the Indian market may be unlikely. Furthermore, the small-capacity sportbike market in India is already tightly packed. Established competitors like the KTM RC 390 and the parallel-twin Kawasaki Ninja models dominate the segment. The upcoming launch of the Yamaha R3 further intensifies the competition in this space.
Considering these factors, along with the potential import status of the CBR250RR. It is reasonable to assume that it's the price tag is reasonable to assume as it may not be competitive compared to the locally available alternatives.
