Harley-Davidson India opened official bookings for the X440 at 4:40 p.m. yesterday. It is available in three models and may be reserved for an initial deposit of Rs. 5,000 at all licenced Harley-Davidson dealerships, online, and select Hero MotoCorp showrooms nationwide. Customer deliveries of the bike will start in October 2023. It will be produced at the brand's manufacturing plant in Neemrana, Rajasthan.
The Harley-Davidson X440 is the most affordable motorcycle by the brand, at an Ex-Showroom Price of Rs. 2.29 lakh for the base Denim trim and rising to Rs. 2.49 lakh for the Vivid mid-level variant. However, the S range-topping model is available at Rs. 2.69 lakhs and all the bike prices are Ex-Showroom.
The 1200 XR inspires the Harley-Davidson X440 and features a neo-retro styling. It is powered by a 440 cc single-cylinder two-valve air and oil cool engine that produces a maximum power output of 27 hp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is tuned to a six-speed gearbox.
It comes standard with an LED headlight with DRL, an LED tail lamp, and LED turn signals. The bike has a TFT instrument dashboard with Bluetooth connectivity and 320 mm front and rear disc brakes aided by a dual-channel ABS system. It is supported by upside-down front forks of 43 mm and twin-sided rear shock absorbers. The X440 has a broader handlebar, and the footpegs are present in a neutral or standard position. The seat height is 805 mm with a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres.
Different trim levels or variants are available for this vehicle, each offering different features and aesthetics. The entry-level trim comes with wire-spoke wheels. However, the Vivid trim has machined alloy wheels, which are wheels made from a single block of aluminium with a polished finish. The S trim features diamond-cut alloy wheels with a faceted or textured appearance created by precision machining. Additionally, a "Mustard yellow" paint scheme for the entry-level trim indicates the colour of the vehicle.
Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle brings different colour options and prices. It is compared to entry-level middleweight segment bikes like the Royal Enfield Classic 350. The top-end model of the Harley-Davidson X440 is only available in black colour. However, the Vivid variant of the X440 offers two colour options, Metallic Thick Red and Metallic Dark Silver.
