This month, Ultraviolette is set to launch its inaugural dealership in India to broaden its footprint in the global market.
In November 2022, Ultraviolette launched India's initial electric sports bike, the Ultraviolette F77. The F77 is available in three models - Airstrike, Shadow, and Laser. Each model has two F77 standard and F77 Recon. Ultraviolette also provides a special edition variant.
The F77 is known for its impressive performance but does not have a higher price tag. The ex-showroom price for the F77 ranges from Rs 3.8 lakh to Rs 5.5 lakh, which might be too steep for some potential buyers. Additionally, you may feel that the bike's range may not be sufficient for extended travel.
Commencement of Deliveries for the Ultraviolette F77
The company has started delivering the first units exclusively to buyers in Bengaluru from their plant. Deliveries will soon begin in Cochin, Mumbai, and Pune in the second quarter as part of the second phase. Later this year, deliveries will be expanded to Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Lucknow.
Ultraviolette is dedicated to expanding its presence worldwide, and the F77 is only the initial step. The company aims to secure additional funding to support its growth acceleration strategy, including creating new vehicle platforms and expanding its dealership network.
Ultraviolette also intends to enhance its electric two-wheeler research and development efforts in India, potentially resulting in more cutting-edge products.
The company is planning to establish its initial dealership later this month. In addition, the EV manufacturer intends to expand its reach into global markets with a $120 million investment plan. The Ultraviolette F77 boasts a sporty appearance.
Further, it features a full LED headlamp and a triangular LED tail lamp. In addition, the bike's wider tires, sculpted fuel tank, scooped seat with a stepped-up pillion seat, rear-set foot pegs, and low-set handlebar all contribute to its athletic design.
Ultraviolette F77 boasts various safety features, including side panels for effective battery cooling. It has three ride modes - Glide, Combat, and Ballistic - and a 9-axis IMU with a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope. The bike is also equipped with standard braking features. The bike is equipped with a 320 mm front disc brake followed by a 230 mm rear disc.
Furthermore, the bike rides on 17-inch wheels. The front and rear tyre size is 110/70 front and 150/60 rear Metzeler tires. The inclusion of advanced features such as ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, and a Bluetooth-enabled TFT screen make it a technologically-advanced choice.
Enhanced Power and Performance
The Ultraviolette F77 Recron is powered by an electric motor that provides 39 bhp power and 95 Nm torque and is powered by a 10.3kWh battery pack. The combination offers a range of 307 km and a top speed of 147 km/h. The standard model comes with a 7.1kWh unit, providing a range of 206 km on a single charge and a top speed of 140 km/h.
One potential drawback of the F77 is that its battery requires a lengthy charging time of 7-10 hours using a standard charger. However, the company's 3 kW Boost charger reduces the charging time to 3.5 hours. Another consideration is the limited availability of charging stations in certain areas, which could impact the bike's feasibility for long-distance travel.
Additionally, there is a special edition of the F77, which is limited to only 77 units. This version features an electric motor with 40 bhp power and 100 Nm torque. It allows the bike to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds.
Further, the top speed of the bike is recorded at 152 km/h. The suspension system includes a USD fork in the front and a mono-shock in the rear. Further, equipped with preload adjustability in the front for both the Recon and Special edition models.
Although introduced in the electric two-wheeler market, its performance capabilities compete with ICE models such as the KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310, and BMW G310RR. Nevertheless, the Ultraviolette F77 has a significant advantage in eco-friendliness and lower maintenance costs.
