Ducati Bikes in India is now taking pre-orders for the upcoming DesertX Rally adventure bike before its release later this year. This new model, the DesertX Rally, is geared towards off-road adventures, building upon the already impressive DesertX.
It's set to feature enhanced equipment and will be more expensive than the standard version. The regular Ducati DesertX has been available in India since last year.
DesertX Rally is an adventure bike ready to tackle any adventure or rally-raid challenge. Let's have a quick glimpse at the Ducati DesertX Rally's specifications and features :
Ducati DesertX Rally Specifications
- Engine: Ducati DesertX Rally Engine is powered by a 937 cc Testastretta 11° engine, delivering 110 horsepower and 92 Nm of torque.
- Transmission: It features a 6-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down.
- Wheels and tyres: Spoked wheels (21" front, 18" rear) are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres.
- Brakes: Equipped with Ø 320 mm front discs, Radial mount Brembo monobloc callipers, and Ø 265 mm rear disc with Brembo callipers, all with Bosch Cornering ABS.
- Instrumentation: A 5" TFT colour display provides essential information.
- Weight and Dimensions: The bike weighs 211 kg (465 lb) without fuel, has a seat height of 910 mm (35.8 in), and has a ground clearance of 280 mm (11 in).
- Standard Equipment: Includes Ducati Quick Shift up/down, cruise control, LED lighting, USB power socket, and Öhlins adjustable steering damper.
- Warranty: Covered by a 24/48* months unlimited mileage warranty.
- Maintenance: Service intervals are every 15,000 km (9,000 miles) or 24 months, with a valve clearance check every 30,000 km (18,000 miles).
- Emissions: The Ducati DesertX Rally is Euro 5 compliant, emitting CO2 at 133 g/km and consuming fuel at 5.6 l/100 km.

- Enhanced Suspension: This option offers an additional 20mm of suspension travel, totalling 250mm at the front and 240mm at the rear.
- Collaborative Design: The front fork and rear shock were produced in collaboration with KYB, ensuring homogeneous behaviour and support during extreme use.
- Lightweight and Technical Wheels: The wheels have stronger and lighter Takasago Excel rims, along with carbon steel spokes.
- Inner Tube Rims: It uses inner tube rims for wheels with spokes in the centre which helps protect the wheels from stones when riding off-road.
- Dedicated Off-Road Components: It comes with a carbon sump guard and a billet aluminium rear brake and gear lever.
- Top-Notch Off-Road Componentry: The bike has a split front brake line, which lets you attach a high mudguard. It also comes with an adjustable Öhlins steering damper and billet aluminium gear lever, along with a rear brake pedal.
- Premium Materials: The plastics are made in one colour throughout and don't have paint on them to better hide scratches. Thick PVC stickers protect the surfaces and can be customised.
The Ducati DesertX is priced at Rs 18.33 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The DesertX Rally is anticipated to be priced at a premium, possibly starting from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
