Due to a possible danger of a broken gearbox input shaft, BMW Motorrad has recalled a small number of R 1250 GS, R 1250 GS Adventure, and R 1250 RT motorcycles in the North American market. According to the recall notice, the affected models' gearbox input shafts are overloaded, which leads to a break and a blockage of the back wheel. This might make crashes and injuries more likely. The owners of the aforementioned motorcycles have been advised by BMW Motorrad to cease riding them and contact their local, authorised BMW dealer for the recall service. Additionally, BMW Motorrad has sent a Stop Sale notice to all of its dealers for all impacted R 1250 GS, R 1250 GS Adventure, and R 1250 RTP motorcycles from 2019 through 2023. Furthermore, BWM dealers would update the concerned vehicles' engine control unit software as a fix.
