Ather Energy has begun reservations for its future electric scooter in India ahead of the August 3 debut of the new Ather 450S. Prospective purchasers can make reservations on the company's official website. The 450S is the brand's most economical model, available for reservation at a minimal fee of Rs 2,500, which is totally refundable.
The entry-level 450S will be priced at Rs 1.30 lakh ex-showroom, cheaper than the Ather 450X. According to earlier teaser photos, the 450S would likely have an LCD display rather than the 7.0-inch touchscreen found on the 450X. However, the scooter may include smartphone connectivity as a standard feature. The Bengaluru-based EV business will be able to price the 450S scooter lower than the 450X while taking advantage of the FAME benefits.
Performance of Ather 450S
The new Ather 450S will have the same 3kWh battery as the previously discontinued 450 Plus, providing an IDC range of 115 km on a single charge. We cannot speculate on the real-world range, although it will be less than the IDC range of 115km. The new base 450S variation, like the 450X and 450 X Pro Pack models, will have a top speed of 90km/h.
The new 450S is supposed to be compact and sleek in appearance. It will feature a sleek body with crisp lines, giving it a futuristic appearance. Furthermore, its riding ergonomics are meticulously designed in order to provide a comfortable riding experience throughout long travels.
The new 450S will likely include extensive connection capabilities allowing riders to connect their cell phones and access numerous applications for ride diagnostics, navigation, etc. Other features include LED headlights and tail lamps and increased storage space for daily necessities. The scooter will consist of front forks and a rear monoshock for suspension. A rear disc brake with a belt drive will also be available.
The 450S scooter will be available in India as the entry-level model in the 450 series for Rs 1.30 lakh ex-showroom. The new Ather 450S will compete with the Ola S1 Air, TVS iQube S, Bajaj Chetak, and others when it arrives in India.
The incoming 450S is likely to bolster the company's sales after the EV maker raised the pricing of the Ather 450X and 450 X Pro Pack to Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.65 lakh, respectively. The prices are both ex-showroom in response to the FAME-II subsidy drop.
