Ather Energy has commenced production of the electric scooter Ather 450 Apex at their Hosur factory. Co-founder Swapnil Jain shared this update on social media. Ather 450 Apex is their fastest model yet. It's priced at ₹1,88,999 (ex-showroom), and deliveries are expected to start in March.
The Ather 450 Apex is a 10-year special edition model celebrating Ather's groundbreaking achievements. This special edition features transparent panels that unveil its chassis, along with an eye-catching 'Indium Blue' colour variant. Additionally, This e-scooter has unique features like the Magic Twist™ throttle, allowing for intuitive speed control.

Ather 450 Apex comes with a powerful battery system with a capacity of 3.7 kWh and utilises a lithium-ion battery type. The nominal voltage of the battery is 51.1V. It's well-protected against water and dust with an IP67 rating. The battery pack casing is made of sturdy aluminium alloy, ensuring durability and safety for your rides.
Moreover, Ather 450 Apex boasts impressive performance features: it delivers 7.0 kW of peak power, which enables it to reach a top speed of 100 km/h. With a maximum torque of 26 Nm, it accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
Additionally, it can tackle inclines of up to 20 degrees with ease. The scooter utilises a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) type, ensuring efficient performance. It is equipped with IP66 ingress protection for the motor and IP65 protection for the controller, safeguarding against dust and water.
For the Ather 450 Apex, charging is efficient and convenient. At home, it takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to reach 80% battery capacity or 5 hours and 45 minutes for a full charge. Utilising Ather GridTM, charging from 0 to 50% State of Charge (SOC) is at a rate of 1.5 km per minute, while from 50% to 80% SOC, it's 1 km per minute.
As for range, the TrueRangeTM certification indicates a maximum range of 157 km, with SmartEcoTM and Eco modes offering 110 km, Ride mode providing 95 km, Sport mode granting 90 km, and Warp+TM mode delivering 75 km.
Ather 450 Apex features alloy wheels with tubeless tyres for stability. Its braking system utilises hydraulically actuated discs for efficient stopping power. Ather 450 Apex features alloy wheels with a size of 12 inches by 2.15 inches in the front and 12 inches by 2.5 inches in the rear. It is equipped with tubeless tyres, with sizes of 90/90-12 for the front and 100/80-12 for the rear.
The scooter’s front brakes use a hydraulically actuated triple-piston calliper disc, while the rear brakes use a hydraulically actuated single-piston calliper disc. The front disc size is 20 cm, and the rear is 19 cm. Its braking distance from 60 km/h to 0 km/h is 28.6 meters.
Ather 450 Apex has telescopic forks for the front suspension and a symmetrically mounted progressive monoshock for the rear suspension. The frame type is a precision-machined hybrid chassis made from a combination of aluminium and steel materials.
Ather 450 Apex comes packed with advanced features for added convenience and safety. It includes LED headlights, tail lights, and indicators, ensuring better visibility on the road. The e-scooter also features a side-stand motor cut-off for enhanced safety. With spacious 22-litre boot storage, riders can easily carry their essentials.
For added comfort, it comes with an aluminium pillion grab handle. The scooter boasts a certified ground clearance of 17 cm, a seat height of 78 cm, and a kerb weight of 111.6 kg. Competing with the Ola S1 Pro, it provides a combination of advanced technology and performance.
The Ather 450 Apex offers a comprehensive warranty package: 3 years or 30,000 km for the vehicle, 3 years for the charger, and an impressive 5 years or 60,000 km for the default battery.
