Hero MotoCorp has launched the Hero Xtreme 125R at the Hero World Day 2024 event in Jaipur. This bike is positioned as a premium bike in the highly competitive 125cc commuter segment. Moreover, the Raider and Pulsar NS125 are already available in this category and are doing really well.
So, this newly launched Xtreme 125R bike will see tough competition in this 125cc bike segment. You can get the Xtreme 125R bike at a price ranging from Rs 95,000 for the IBS model and Rs 99,500 for the ABS variant.
Design-wise, the Xtreme 125R features a bold bikini fairing with a wide LED headlight similar to designs from Hero’s recent collaboration with Zero Motorcycles. Moreover, some people are comparing its looks with the Ducati Streetfighter V4 bike. The bike's muscular fuel tank extends outside, which makes the appearance more sportier. These extensions may not look good to some riders, but on the other hand, they add more elegance to the bike's aesthetics.
Further enhancing its sporty appeal is a two-tone centre panel and a neatly designed tail section with a tyre hugger. Overall, Hero delivers on its promise of sportiness in the design department, albeit with unconventional elements that may divide opinions.
The Xtreme 125R bike is available with an all-new 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivers 11.55PS and 10.5Nm of torque. Even though the engine doesn't offer impressive figures, it's remarkably smooth and easy to control.
It accelerates seamlessly and handles well, especially in city traffic. Moreover, Hero has claimed impressive performance metrics, including a 0-60kmph acceleration in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 95kmph. Also, you can run this bike at a low speed of 20-22 kmph in 4th gear, and it accelerates easily.
The motorcycle is fitted with a 37mm fork at the front, which is one of the fattest forks in the 125cc segment and a seven-step preload adjustable monoshock at the rear end. The Xtreme 125R delivers exceptional stability, surpassing expectations given its 136kg kerb weight.
Moreover, it has a 276mm disc at the front & a 130mm drum at the rear end with single-channel ABS and Hero’s Integrated Braking System. This ensures ample stopping power and control during riding. Notably, the Xtreme 125R is the sole offering in its class to feature ABS, underscoring Hero's commitment to rider safety.
The bike offers a low seat height of 794mm and a spacious seat, accommodating riders of varying heights with ease. The sportiness and commuter-friendly riding posture make it suitable for city commutes. Besides, the motorcycle gets MRF Zapper tyres at both ends; their larger size, as compared to other 125cc bikes in the market, provides riders with outstanding confidence while cornering. It has a 90/90-17 at the front and a 120/80-17 tyre at the rear end.
The Console of Xtreme 125R is quite small, but it works well. It has a fully digital LCD display that provides the necessary ride details, including speed, rpm, two trip meters, odometer and average fuel consumption.
