5 Upcoming Two-Wheelers of Honda in India

Two Electric Scooters are in the Honda lineup, one with a fixed battery pack and the other with removable ones.

Honda always brings something unique to the Indian market, but the Japanese manufacturer is getting serious about its product lineup for our nation. It just debuted the Shine 100, its first-ever 100 cc commuter, to compete head-on with Hero in that highly competitive market, and it has great ambitions for future launches as well.

Honda unveiled various new models for India around the time of Shine's introduction, including several electric scooters. Here is the whole list:

Upcoming Honda 350 cc Cruiser

Honda has added two new models to their CB350 platform: the H'ness vintage motorbike and the CB350RS with a cafe racing style. These bikes allow Honda to compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Hunter 350, but they don't have a direct competitor to the Meteor 350 yet.

According to Honda, a new 350 cc motorbike will be released before Diwali this year. Based on our knowledge, it is likely to be a cruiser designed to rival the Meteor. It will likely feature the same 348 cc long-stroke single as previous models but with notable improvements. While this engine may not typically provide much power at low speeds, as is expected of a cruiser, Honda may try adjusting the gearing to make up for this.

If this new bike is going to compete with the Meteor, it will need to be priced similarly. So anticipate costs between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.2 lakh (ex-showroom). Honda claims the bike will be available in November but anticipates it is being available earlier, around the holiday season.

Honda Electric Scooters

Honda will also make its debut in the booming electric two-wheeler category in FY24 with not one but two new options. Both will be electric scooters, but their powertrains will be different. According to patent drawings, the initial e-scooter will have a fixed battery located on the floorboard, whereas the subsequent model will feature a detachable battery pack.

The new Honda electric scooters will likely use the Honda Mobile Power Pack battery, which is currently being installed at swapping stations throughout the country. Honda may also use the popular Activa brand to name one or both of these scooters as the Activa electric or e-Activa. It can follow a similar strategy to Suzuki's e-Burgman electric scooter.

125 cc Scooter and 160 cc Motorcycle from Honda

Honda has ambitious plans for the petrol-powered market this year. They plan to release a new 125 cc scooter and a 160 cc motorbike in FY24. The 125 cc scooter will likely share its underpinnings with the Activa 125 but may have a sportier appearance to compete with the TVS NTorq and Suzuki Avenis. The 160cc motorbike is expected to use an engine from the X-blade and Unicorn, but Honda has not revealed any details about its design. Perhaps it will have an ADV-style appearance, similar to the Hornet 2.0-based CB200X.
