Honda India is working hard to update its entire product lineup that will comply with the newly released BS6 Stage 2 norms. This Japanese auto manufacturer has till now upgraded 4 of its products, including -

In addition, the company officials have released a statement that it will soon be upgrading its entire product range to comply with the new norms. The most recent bike to get the upgrade is the SP125. It is the 2nd 125cc bike after Shine 125 by the brand to get this update.

Engine Performance & Power Output

The engine of SP125 remains untouched and continues to belt out 10.72 bhp @ 7,500 rpm and 10.9 nm @ 6,000 rpm of peak torque. It is tuned to a 5-speed gearbox

In addition, the engine of this powerful bike comes with a fuel injection system, eSP and ACG starter motor. All these features ensure users experience a silent & jolt-free starting procedure. Moreover, the brand has relocated the fuel pump outside the fuel tank for easier access and reduced maintenance time.

Value-Adding Features

Honda SP125 is built with multiple features that put it ahead of its competitors in the market. Some of them include

  • LED headlamp
  • integrated headlamp beam
  • engine start/stop switch
  • passing switch
  • side stand cut-off

In addition to these, the bike also features a digital instrument console that gives various information such as -

  • average fuel efficiency
  • distance to empty
  • Real-time fuel efficiency
  • ECO indicator
  • gear position indicator 
  • service due reminder, etc.

Hardware

The SP125’s front brakes can be either a 130 mm drum or a 240 mm disc. A 130 mm drum brake is located at the back. The SP125’s rear tyre is now wider because it measures 100/10. The motorcycles have tubeless tyres and alloy wheels. Telescopic front forks and hydraulic shock absorbers with 5-step adjustment are used for suspension.

Styling

The Shine 125, which has been available for quite some time, has been updated into the SP125. New aesthetics and a front LED headlamp are added to the SP125. The Honda SP125 is available in five different colours. There are five different metallic colours: 

  • Matte Axis Grey, 
  • Imperial Red, 
  • Pearl Siren Blue, and 
  • Mat Marvel Blue Metallic.

Competitive Price & Variants

Honda offers its SP125 in 2 variant models - Drum & Disc. The drum variant has a price tag of Rs 85,131, and the disc variant model has a price tag of Rs 89,131.
