Husqvarna has unveiled the Svartpilen 801 globally, priced at USD 10,899 (around Rs. 9 Lakh). The Svartpilen 801 replaces the 701, and sales are expected to start in Europe by June 2024. However, its arrival in India remains uncertain. It uses a similar KTM 790 Duke engine with a scrambler-inspired streetfighter design. The production version closely resembles the previously teased prototype, maintaining its distinctive look.
The new Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 has a 799cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor sourced from the KTM 790 Duke that delivers 103.25bhp @ 9,250rpm and 87Nm of torque @ 8,000rpm. Moreover, its engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and weighs 181 kg.
The frame of the bike uses the engine as a part of its structure and is made of chromium-molybdenum. This Husqvarna bike also features Nikasil-coated cylinders, forged aluminium pistons, dual balancer shafts, a slipper clutch, and a quick-shifter for smooth operation.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 has a cutting-edge Scrambler design, drawing inspiration from the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen range. The bike's moderate style is highlighted with slim bodywork snugly folding over the motor and frame, advancing an associated feel between rider and machine.
This bike's design is particular and useful, featuring striking colours, an LED light ring, a tank cover, and a skid plate. Its rounded steel frame, created with hydro-framed parts, guarantees precision and strength, giving the best stability on the road. Integrated front and rear LED lights improve visibility, adding to rider wellbeing. In addition, it offers 3 riding modes, including road, sports and rain.
The bike's lightweight tapered aluminium handlebar, WP steering damper, and forged aluminium triple clamps offer maximum control and comfort, while the tapered seat facilitates easy movement during rides. Constructed from high-quality materials and engineered foam, the seat prioritises comfort and durability, with heat-stamped ribs enhancing traction.
This Husqvarna bike comes with a 300mm front brake and a 240mm rear brake. The front brake has two radially mounted 4-piston callipers, while the rear brake has a 2-piston floating calliper.
Moreover, the bike uses a 520 X-Ring chain and a Chromium-Molybdenum-Steel frame design, with the engine serving as a stressed element and powder-coated for durability. It rides on WP APEX 43 front suspension and WP APEX monoshock rear suspension, which provides stability and comfort.
