Kawasaki KLX 230 S

Kawasaki is all set to launch the KLX 230 S in India this month. This new model is designed to be a rider-friendly dual-sport motorcycle, which makes it ideal for beginners. The 2024 KLX 230 S is expected to be priced aggressively, with a price tag of around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) or possibly even lower. This would make it an affordable choice for off-road enthusiasts in India. Features and SpecificationsThe KLX 230 S comes with some interesting features that set it apart from typical dual-sport bikes. It has a lower seat height and less suspension travel, which makes it easier for new riders to handle. According to international specifications, the seat height is 843mm, while the suspension travel measures 198mm in the front and 220mm in the rear. Moreover, the ground clearance stands at 239mm, which is ideal for both on-road and off-road conditions. The bike is expected to weigh around 133kg. However, with additional features to meet Indian regulations, like the saree guard and front number plate, the weight may increase slightly, possibly reaching closer to 140kg. Engine and PerformanceKawasaki KLX 230 S uses a simple 233cc air-cooled, 2-valve engine that generates between 17hp and 20hp. The bike is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox and is designed to be both BS6 and E20 fuel-compliant. This ensures it meets Indian emission standards. Furthermore, the bike will come with ABS, adding an extra layer of safety for riders. Recently, images of a new Hero Xpulse 210, which will use the engine from the Karizma XMR, have surfaced. This upcoming model could have a power advantage over the KLX 230 S.  Positioning and CompetitionKawasaki KLX 230 S will be the third Indian Kawasaki model, following the Ninja 300 and W175. If Kawasaki can keep the price low, their new Japanese dual-sport bike could be the first of its kind to be road-legal in India. Kawasaki finally has scheduled the day to unveil that much-awaited Ninja 1100 on October 1. The latest version will be a perfect combination of advanced technology and performance for one of the Ninja series. Enthusiasts read beyond its design and, most importantly, where it balances those towards daily commuting and sporty riding. The Ninja 1100 was to influence diverse categories of riders to its saddle with power, agility, and advanced features. Details about the motorcycle have emerged ahead of its launch from a type of approval document issued in Switzerland. Key Features and Expectations for the New Kawasaki Ninja 1100The new motorcycle model has a bigger inline four-cylinder engine measuring 1,099cc, replacing the 1,043cc unit that was available earlier. More curiously, leaked information about it shows a power output of around 135bhp, down from the previous 142bhp, despite having a bigger displacement. However, torque increases slightly to 113Nm from the previous 111Nm. The new bike will also feature a marginally larger sprocket with an additional tooth, which may well enhance acceleration modestly. Leaked reports, however, provide no changes in dimensions; the bike will be the same height, length, wheelbase, and weight. Still, we expect Kawasaki to change its design to better compare with its previous version. Other added electronic features are also likely since its current model lacks more of this sort. The motorcycle's body is said to be unveiled on October 1, 2024. Earlier this year, Kawasaki removed the Ninja 1000 from its India website.
