In the first month of FY25, sales figures for the top six two-wheeler companies in India were revealed. All OEMs showcased varying performances. Hero MotoCorp, the leading player, experienced a remarkable surge. Other brands include TVS Motor Company, Bajaj, Suzuki, and Royal Enfield. These sales figures provide insights into the competitive landscape of the Indian two-wheeler industry.Let’s have a look at the top 6 brand’s bikes and scooter sales in April 2024.Hero Sales: + 34.7% YoY In April 2024, Hero MotoCorp saw an impressive increase in sales. 533,585 units were sold, up 34.7% from sales in April 2023. Also, the company has improved from sales in March 2024, which increased by 9%. Significantly, Hero's motorcycles, especially the Hero Extreme 125R, became popular and led to mass production. Domestic sales increased by 32.90%, to 513,296 units, while exports grew by an impressive 104.47%. Hero’s new flagship model, the Maverick 440, made a huge impact.Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Sales: +42.2% YoY Last month, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India saw a significant surge in sales, with a 34.3% increase compared to March 2024, selling 3,58,151 units. Compared to April 2023, the increase was even more substantial, at 42.2%, with sales reaching 3,38,289 units. Honda's updated Africa Twin design has been patented in India, indicating the company's focus on innovation.TVS Sales: + 27% YoY TVS Motor Company achieved a robust 27% growth in total two-wheeler sales compared to April 2023. It sold 3,74,592 units, up from 294,786 units a year ago. Motorcycle sales increased 24%, compared to 1,52,365 units in April 2023 It reached 1,88,110 units.Scooter sales also increased by 34% to 1,44,126 compared to 1,07,496 last year, indicating high consumer demand. Domestic sales grew 29%, with 3,01,449 units sold, while exports rose 18% to  73,143 units. These sales figures reflect TVS’ strong performance and good market performance.Bajaj Sales: + 19% YoY Bajaj two-wheeler sales rose 19% in April 2024 as compared to April 2023. The company’s total sales were 3,41,789, up from 2,87,985 in the previous year. Domestic sales rose 19%, 2,16,950 units, while exports also rose 18% to 1,24,839 units. This means that there is a huge demand for Bajaj motorcycles and scooters in India and internationally.Suzuki Sales: + 31% YoY  Suzuki continued its strong sales run in April 2024, marking its fourth month of over 80,000 sales. They registered an increase of 2.20% from March 2024, selling 86,164 units. Compared to April 2023, Suzuki grew by 31%, with 67,259 units. Recently, Suzuki achieved a milestone by passing the 8 Million unit production mark.Royal Enfield Sales: + 12%  Royal Enfield, the iconic Indian motorcycle maker, reported strong sales, totalling 81,870 units, up 12% from April 2023. The sub-350cc segment, which includes models like the Bullet and Classic, saw 13% growth with 72,866 units sold. Sales of bikes above 350cc, including Himalayan and 650 Twins, rose 7% to 9,004 units. Meanwhile, the export sales figures also saw an incredible increase by 104.47% with sales unit of 20,289 against 9,923 export sales in April 2023.  Hero MotoCorp's new flagship model, Maverick 440, has made a significant impact on the company's business expansion. The sales of two wheelers in FY 2024 increased by 11.48% compared to the previous year. A total of 1,24,18,128 units were sold, up from 1,11,38,889 units in FY23. This growth amounted to an additional 12,79,239 units sold during the year.  In FY 2024, Splendor and Activa are the top selling two wheelers from the new models and favourable market conditions. Their popularity surged due to updated designs, improved features, and increased purchases in rural areas.Additionally, the Pulsar, Honda Shine and HF Deluxe are following the lead. These two models dominated the market, reflecting evolving consumer preferences and government policies supporting the automotive sector. Let’s know more about these top-selling two-wheelers FY24 vs FY23: List of Top 10 Two Wheeler Sales In 2024  Hero Splendor Hero MotoCorp's Splendor maintained its position as the best-selling two-wheeler globally in 2024. Hero Splendor shines again with consistent monthly sales dominance. Its sales increased by 1.15% YoY, totalling 32,93,324 units. Splendor's enduring popularity and market strength give it a significant 26.51% share among the top 10 best-selling models. Honda Activa  Activa secured the second spot among the top-selling two-wheelers in 2024 by selling 22,54,537 units. This scooter marked a growth of 4.88% over FY23. Moreover, Activa's success hints at a potential electric variant, holding an 18.16% share in the top 10 list. This aligns with the industry trend of enhancing sales through innovation. Honda Shine Honda Shine arose as a notable motorcycle in the commuter section, seeing a significant 22.66% YoY sales increment. Its sales arrived at 14,82,957 units, up from 12,09,025 units in FY23. This addresses a volume growth of 2,73,932 units. This growth highlights Shine's rising popularity among customers. Bajaj Pulsar  Pulsar got the fifth spot in the top-selling bike list for FY24. Around 14,10,974 units were sold, a critical 37.11% increment compared with FY23. In addition, the organisation is reliably making efforts to grow and refresh the Pulsar range.  Hero HF Deluxe  HF Deluxe experienced a slight decline in YoY sales, dropping by 1.70% in FY24. Sales decreased to 10,34,178 units from 10,52,043 units sold in FY23. Despite this marginal decrease, HF Deluxe remains a significant player in the two-wheeler market. It maintains consumer interest with its reliable performance. TVS Jupiter  Jupiter scooter experienced a notable 15.81% increase in sales during FY24. Sales rose to 8,44,863 units from 7,29,546 units in FY23, representing a volume growth of 1,15,317 units. Jupiter continues to attract consumers with its appealing features and performance. It has a 6.80% share on the list of the top 10 most selling two wheelers in 2024. Suzuki Access  Access scooters witnessed a significant 27.21% year-on-year sales increase in FY24, reaching 6,34,563 units. The newly detailed Suzuki Access 125 facelift introduces enhanced features and updated technology, reflecting the brand's commitment to innovation and meeting consumer preferences for improved performance and functionality. Bajaj Platina  The sales of Bajaj Platina dipped to 5,02,486 units in FY24 compared to 5,34,017 units last year. It has a market share of 4.05%, which took it to 8th position in this list. Moreover, the affordable price and superior mileage of Bajaj Platina 100 makes it easy for budget-conscious buyers to purchase. TVS XL  TVS XL saw a 9.11% YoY expansion in sales, arriving at 4,81,803 units. This development reflects customer interest in the model, which is known for its quality and performance. Additionally, the reliable performance of the TVS XL 100 features its appeal among purchasers.  TVS Raider  At last, the TVS Raider achieved remarkable YoY growth in FY24. It has seen an impressive 99.86% to 4,78,443 units from 2,39,388 units sold in FY23.
