The parent firm of the electric mobility brand Joy e-Bike, WardWizard Innovations and Mobility Ltd, has teased the arrival of a brand-new electric scooter on Jan 12 at the Auto Expo 2023. Electric motorcycles and scooters are among the electric vehicles offered by the manufacturer.The new Joy e-Bike electric vehicle is currently under wraps, but the silhouette suggests that a Vespa-inspired, retro-themed model is in the works. The scooter's rearview mirrors, front apron, and side panels, as well as its alloy wheels and LED headlamp, are all hinted at in the teaser. According to the teaser image, the vehicle also most likely has a front disc brake.The mechanical details have not been made public, but the future vehicle is most likely a high-speed scooter and may cost around $1 lakh (ex-showroom) in price. The model will compete with electric scooters from Okinawa, Ampere, Ola S1 Air, and similar brands at this price bracket.In related news, sales of Joy e-bikes reached a record high in December 2022, with 5,400 units sold, up 40% from the 3,860 units sold in December 2021. In addition, the company reported strong overall results for the calendar year ending in December 2022, selling 43,914 units, representing a 2x yearly growth of 131.6% over the modest 18,963 units sold during the same period in 2021. Along with its aggressive expansion objectives, the firm also increased the size of its dealer network over the past year.
