Bajaj Showcases Pulsar NS160 - An Ethanol Engine Motorbike
Bajaj Showcases Pulsar NS160 - An Ethanol Engine Motorbike
CalendarPublished on September 5, 2024 by BikeJunction
Bajaj launched the Pulsar NS160, which now runs on ethanol, showing a remarkable improvement in sustainable mobility. This upgraded system uses ethanol fuel to reduce carbon emissions, providing an environmentally friendly alternative without compromising efficiency. Pulsar NS160 retains its dynamic design and advanced features, providing an attractive ride and contributing to green travel. This innovation reflects the industry’s evolution towards sustainable automotive solutions. The bike appears the same as the standard petrol-powered Bajaj Pulsar NS160.  - Bajaj Pulsar NS160, powered by ethanol/flex-fuel, was featured at the India Bio-Energy & Tech (IBET) Expo 2024.- Bike was displayed alongside the Freedom 125 CNG model.- Runs on E100 fuel, which consists of 93.5 percent ethanol.  Bajaj Auto unveiled the Pulsar NS160 Flex Fuel, an ethanol-powered version of the NS160, at the India Bio-Energy and Tech (IBET) Expo 2024 in New Delhi. The model runs on E100 fuel, a 93.5 percent ethanol blend. It is on display alongside the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike.  Bajaj Pulsar NS160 Flex Fuel: New Era in Alternative Fuel Motorcycles The Pulsar NS160 Flex Fuel is a new addition to the brand, using innovative fuel technology. Earlier, the company launched the Freedom 125 CNG bike, which is currently the only CNG-powered motorcycle in India.  The petrol-powered Pulsar NS160 is powered by a 160.3cc air/oil-cooled engine producing 17.2PS and 14.6Nm. While the flex-fuel version may deliver the same power, it may need to be more fuel-efficient. But with ethanol being much cheaper than petrol, the bike can offset this decline in performance.  For some time, the government has been encouraging two-wheeler manufacturers to develop alternative fuel vehicles. We recently launched the Flex-Fuel TVS Raider 125 and the Flex-Fuel Royal Enfield Classic 350 at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 in March. It’s only a matter of time before ethanol-powered bikes lead the market.  Earlier, Bajaj Auto managing director Rajiv Bajaj said the brand could launch an ethanol-powered Pulsar by March 2025. Given Bajaj's strong presence in Brazil and Latin America, where E80/E100 fuels are prevalent, it makes sense that the company will expand into flex-fuel bikes.  The main advantage of an ethanol-powered vehicle compared to other fuel options is that it does not require special refuelling or additional infrastructure. Once it is launched in the country, it is likely to be available at designated petrol stations.  The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is priced at Rs 1,47,206 (ex-showroom, India) and competes with other 160cc models like TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Hero Extreme 160R 4V. We expect the powered Pulsar NS160 Flex Fuel to be priced between Rs 1.4 lakh and 1.55 lakh, ex-showroom.Curious to know about the Yamaha Aerox 155 Version S: Review After First Ride. Follow us for the Latest Bike Industry UpdatesFacebook - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_offl_fb     Instagram-  https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_insta     Twitter - https://bit.ly/BikeJunction_ofl_twitter
