In August 2023, TVS Motor sold 1,53,047 bikes. This is a modest reduction of 2.59% from August 2022, when they sold 1,57,118 motorcycles. A few of the best-selling TVS bikes include the Apache & Raider. With 1,42,502 units sold in August 2023 compared to 1,21,866 units in August 2022, scooter sales had a strong gain of 16.93%. Sales of the iQube electric scooter increased astonishingly by 440.67%, from just 4,418 units in August 2022 to 23,887 units in August 2023. These are the largest sales iQube has ever recorded.

Sales of TVS XL100 mopeds increased by a minor 0.02%, remaining nearly steady. TVS Motor sold 36,561 mopeds in August 2023 compared to 36,555 in August 2022. Domestic two-wheeler sales for TVS Motor increased by 7.23%, from 2,39,325 units sold in August 2022 to 2,56,619 in August 2023. The firm shipped 75,491 two-wheelers in August 2023, as opposed to 76,214 in August 2022. This is a minor fall of 0.95% experienced by the company.

The domestic three-wheeler market did well, growing at 26.87%. TVS Motor sold 1,714 units in August 2023 compared to 1,351 in August 2022. But three-wheeler exports suffered, falling by 28.84 %, from 16,897 units in August 2022 to 12,024 units in August 2023.

Month-on-Month Performance (August 2023 vs. July 2023)

With 1,53,047 units sold in August 2023, TVS Motorcycle sales showed a minor decline of 0.58% compared to July 2023. With 1,42,502 units sold in August 2023 compared to July 2023, scooter sales increased 16.86%. Selling 23,887 units in August 2023, the iQube electric scooter kept up its outstanding growth trend with a month-over-month gain of 79.52%. With 36,561 units sold in August 2023 compared to 36,424 in July 2023, moped sales saw a minor increase of 0.38%.

In August 2023, 2,56,619 domestic two-wheeler sales were recorded, representing a 9.09% increase over July 2023. Compared to July 2023, when 77,077 units were shipped, exports fell by 2.06% to 75,491 units in August 2023. 1,714 units were sold in August 2023, an increase of 11.73% over July 2023 in the domestic three-wheeler market. 12,024 three-wheeler exports were made in August 2023, a small decrease of 0.92%.

Conclusion

Mixed outcomes may be seen in TVS Motor's August 2023 sales performance. While domestic and electric scooter sales for the corporation increased significantly, motorcycle sales and exports of two- and three-wheeled vehicles decreased.
