Aprilia Finally Unveils Its Supersports Bike - RS457

After being spotted testing around India multiple times, Aprilia has finally officially pulled the covers off its RS 457. And now that it has officially been unveiled, here’s everything we know!

As for the looks, if you are looking for a sporty & aggressive-looking bike, the new Aprilia RS457 would just be the one for you. The bike shares a very similar design with the existing Aprilia RS660. The bike sports a split LED headlight with a small visor above the front fairing and small ducts underneath the headlight on the side fairing. This gives the bike a striking appearance while offering better balance even at high speeds.

Under the hood, this new beasty-Aprilia bike is powered by a 475 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that belts out a max power output of 47 bhp & is further tuned to a 6-speed gearbox. 

The company has also equipped the bike with an array of rider aids, such as - 

• ABS
• 3-stage traction control
• Ride-by-wire
• 3 Riding Modes
• LED lighting 
• TFT instrument console
• Optional Bluetooth connectivity
• Optional Quickshifter

And just for comparison, the current RC 390 that comes with a much more powerful cc engine offers max power output of 42.9 bhp.

As for other major specifications, the company has fitted the bike with USD front forks & monoshock. And interestingly, you can adjust both suspensions as per your mood for the day. Apart from this, the bike’s braking system is handled by disc brakes both front and rear. 

The Aprilia RS457 rides on 17-inch wheels, which are wrapped in 10/70 (F) & 150/60 (R) TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres. The entire bike weighs around 175 KG, making it the perfect ride partner for all your long-distance adventures. 

And even though the launch date of Aprilia RS457 is yet to be announced, it will directly compete against TVS Apache RR 310, Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC 390 &  the upcoming Yamaha YZF R3.
