Suzuki Working on a Hydrogen-Powered Burgman? Read to Know More Details
Suzuki Working on a Hydrogen-Powered Burgman? Read to Know More Details
CalendarPublished on October 4, 2023 by BikeJunction
In the ever-changing automotive industry landscape, Suzuki is steering towards a sustainable future. Suzuki recently offered a sneak peek into their latest endeavour: a hydrogen-powered Burgman scooter set to debut at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show in late October 2023.  Unlike many hydrogen-powered vehicles that utilise fuel cell technology, hydrogen combines with oxygen to generate electricity. This then results in propelling the vehicle through an electric motor and leaving pure water as the sole by-product, Suzuki's hydrogen Burgman takes a different route.  This cutting-edge scooter doesn't rely on a fuel cell; instead, it incorporates an internal combustion engine that runs on hydrogen rather than traditional petrol. Although Suzuki has shared only a few details, one notable feature is the scooter's 70 Mpa (10,153 PSI) hydrogen fuel tank, indicating a significant step forward in this alternative propulsion technology. Developed based on the Burgman 400 model, Suzuki emphasises that this hydrogen-powered scooter is a technical exhibition piece with no immediate plans for commercial production. While hydrogen-powered combustion engines are not entirely new, their application in scooters represents a pioneering venture. Many manufacturers are exploring similar technology, especially in sectors like heavy equipment, where traditional batteries often prove too bulky and heavy for practical use. Suzuki will unveil additional details about this groundbreaking scooter at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show from October 26 to November 5 for those eager to learn more. Stay tuned for further insights into Suzuki's bold step towards a greener future. But, till we get further information, don’t forget to read about the Harley Davidson X440 Deliveries that are starting from October 15, 2023! Are you searching for a new bike? Explore bikejunction & compare your choice of bike, we will help you out with a bike loan. Select your bike according to category and other specifications on Bike Junction with just one click.
