Zontes, a major two-wheeler manufacturer in China, has introduced the ZT125-M in Europe. Like other Zontes goods, this maxi-scooter is feature-rich and performs admirably, as we have come to expect from Zontes products.
The 125cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine of the Zontes ZT125-M maxi-scooter produces 14.64PS at 8250 RPM. That is slightly more than the KTM 125 Duke and the Yamaha Aerox 155, to put things into perspective. Zontes has additionally employed two radiators to maintain the engine's ideal temperature at all times.
Hardware that is equally capable supports this performance. A twin fork and mono-shock suspension system, together with disc brakes on both ends, are features of the ZT125-M. It should also be a good handling machine because both ends have robust 14-inch tyres. Its 166 kg kerb weight, though, is a little disappointing.
Its hefty construction adds to this weight. This Chinese maxi-scooter boasts authentic maxi-scooter styling, unlike the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 or the Aprilia SXR 125. Everything shouts "Maxi," from the massive centre spine to the weighty front end and lengthy rear. The "winglets" with the integrated indicators and the brow-style DRL all contribute to the visual drama.
Last but not least, the Zontes ZT125 is jam-packed with features. This includes a TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, a TPMS, dual-channel ABS, twin fast-charging USB ports, and keyless ignition.
Can we now anticipate the ZT125-M to make its debut in India, given that Adishwar Auto Ride India imported a variety of Chinese motorcycles? Yes, definitely. The group is now filling the 125cc to 650cc market with a variety of vehicles, including maxi-scooters, hard-core ADVs, and roadsters.
