YZF-3 is available in a single variant and three colours in Japan, soon to be launched in India.
Yamaha Motor Company updated its Yamaha YZF-R3 Model and is available to launch in Japan. The price of the YZF-R3 model is 7,29,000 Yen (around Rs. 4.43 lakh), including a 10% consumption tax, applicable in Japan.
There is no significant update in Yamaha YZF-R3, it still remains an attractive motorcycle. The split seats provide both comfort and style, while the twin-pod headlamp and complete fairing give it a dynamic appearance. The side-slung exhaust contributes to the overall look, and the 17-inch alloy wheels help with stability and handling.
The motorcycle is available in three colours: Deep Purplish Blue Metallic, Black Metallic, and Dark Blueish Purple Metallic. It provides consumers with a range of choices to suit their preferences.
Yamaha updating the YZF-R3 with LED turn indicators, as it indicates the brand's commitment to improving the safety of its motorcycles. LED lighting provides better visibility, especially during low light conditions, which can help reduce the risk of accidents. However, it's worth noting that the Japanese specification model misses out on Bluetooth connectivity, which has recently become a sought-after feature.
Yamaha will consider adding this feature in the future as it makes its way to other markets, including India. Overall, the 2023 Yamaha YZF-R3 did not receive a significant upgrade, but the inclusion of LED lighting is a welcome addition.
The Yamaha YZF-R3 continues to power the same 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine as present on the outgoing model. This motor come attached to a six-speed gearbox, producing a maximum power output of 41.4bhp at 10,750rpm and a peak torque of 29.6Nm at 9,000 rpm. The motorbike has a slipper clutch, which allows for easier downshifts and lowers the possibility of wheel hopping while riding aggressively.
In addition, the YZF-R3 has a non-adjustable telescopic fork in the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The bike also has disc brakes on both ends and dual-channel ABS as standard.
The Hardware configuration of the 2023 Yamaha YZF-R3 is similar to the previous model, with no changes to the chassis, suspension, or braking system. The motorcycle's diamond-type chassis offers a strong and reliable base, while the upside-down front forks and preload-adjustable rear mono-shock provide a pleasant ride.
Safety features of the bike include a dual-channel ABS system and single discs on both wheels to provide braking power. However, the popular YZF-R15 in India provides additional safety through the traction control system, whereas the YZF-R3 does not.
The Japanese manufacturer showcased numerous models to its dealer partners in India, including the YZF-R3 and the MT-03. Several dealers have already begun unofficial bookings for these motorcycles, and we anticipate that the YZF-R3 will be available in our market very soon. It is worth noting that Yamaha Motor India is yet to declare a launch date for the new models.
