Yamaha has released a special edition of its popular modern retro motorcycle, the XSR 900. Only 11 will be available for sale in the European market.
For this initiative, Yamaha teams united to form several designs and units to celebrate their past victories and rich history. The bikes were built individually by several Yamaha teams, drawing inspiration from their successful race-winning machines.
Yamaha Italia built the YZF 750 in honour of winning the 1996 Suzuka 8-hour endurance race. In 1984, white and blue bikes were introduced in France in honour of the successful TZ 250. The Yamaha UK team made yellow and red versions of the XSR 900 to remember Eddie Lawson’s 1993 Daytona 200 victory with the FZR 750R. Additionally, the European Yamaha team organised a tribute to Randy Mamola, highlighting his 13-time 500ccc Grand Prix win in 1987 with the iconic YZR 500 race bike.
All units of the XSR900 GP are available for sale at premium prices. With their rich history and unique look, enthusiasts are expected to pick up these motorcycles within minutes.
