Yamaha has announced a recall for its adventure-style motorcycle, the Tenere 700 World Raid, in Europe. The decision was made after the European Commission's Safety Gate issued a problem with an improper part in a motorbike.
A cable binder on the wire harness of the left-side switchgear is the component of concern. While the documents characterise the fitting as "improper," they did not indicate why. The official file claims this cable binder is a more premium-version of a cable tie. Because of this faulty installment, when the rider toggles the switch, the turn indicators may not work due to improper fitting. This will in-turn create a safety concern for both the rider and oncoming traffic.
Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid motorcycles produced between 1 April 2022 and 31 July 2022 are subject to recall.
The Yamaha Tenere 700 or its World Raid variant isn't yet sold in India. However, it may enter the Indian market in 2025. The MT-07 and YZF-R7 were recently shown to dealers and the media. These models are expected to go on sale in 2024 and will likely join it in the stable.
