Yamaha India has recently introduced the new R3 and MT-03, and now they've been spotted testing 2 new adventure bikes. These upcoming adventure bikes have 125cc and 150cc engines. Moreover, the 150cc bike is called the Yamaha Crosser 150 globally, and it's been seen for the first time in India.
The Indian motorcycle market is really into adventure bikes right now. People are eager for proper off-road motorcycles rather than street bikes dressed up to look like adventure bikes. Yamaha is responding to this demand with its new bike.
Back in 2022, Yamaha India's Chairman, Eishin Chihana, confirmed they were considering an adventure bike for the future. He mentioned it would likely be in the 125cc to 150cc range. Initially, people thought it might be based on the FZ's 150cc platform.
The new Yamaha Crosser could likely be around 150cc. However, it may use a 250cc bike, considering the popularity of similar-sized adventure bikes, such as Hero Xpluse’s 210cc engine.
The Yamaha Crosser will have a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces about 12.2 bhp and 12.74 Nm of torque. It is coupled with a 5-speed gearbox for smoother accelerations. The bike also features petal disc brakes on both wheels. This Yamaha adventure touring motorcycle might offer dual-channel ABS.
Yamaha is working on a proper off-road motorcycle, not just a street bike with off-road styling. The first spy shots confirm this exciting development.
Here's what we can expect from Yamaha's upcoming adventure bikes:
