At a press conference for the new Honda Shine 100, HMSI’s president and CEO, Atsushi Ogata, revealed that the company is improving its best-selling Activa 6G.
The recently launched Activa H-Smart Edition, which features a keyless system, has received more positive feedback than the company anticipated. Honda is encouraged by the feedback and output. Now the company plans to introduce more updates for its 110 cc scooter.
The company will soon equip the Activa 6G with a digital display, Bluetooth connectivity, and keyless system. These features will probably be available on a new, premium variant.
However, this upgrade will not signify a transition to the next-generation Honda Activa 7G.
After this upgrade, the Activa will have more features similar to its main competitor, the TVS Jupiter. The Activa has an analogue display, whereas the Jupiter ZX Smart connect model offers a fully digital display and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Honda Activa 6G is India’s most popular scooter, and it accounts for a large share of Honda’s sales volumes in India. The Activa H-Smart costs Rs. 80,537.
These upgrades will probably increase the Activa model’s price to around Rs 85,000-90,000. However, the scooter’s mechanical aspects will likely remain unchanged. Currently, this scooter comes with a 110cc engine, CVT automatic transmission and the well-liked full metal bodywork.
