Triumph Tiger 1200 Amazes with Automatic Seat Height Reduction Feature

For the Tiger 1200 adventure bike, Triumph has included a new Active Preload Reduction technology. This technology will lower the seat height by 20 mm at low speeds for better handling.

There is no disputing that riding a huge adventure motorbike has a special set of difficulties. They have a lot of suspension travel and ground clearance to handle difficult terrain. At the same time, seat heights are evidently higher frequently. Therefore, Triumph has introduced the new Active Preload Reduction technology for their top ADV, the Tiger 1200. This intends to assist in easing worries around safety caused by higher seat height.

The new mechanism reduces the shock's preload setting while the bike stops or moves slowly. This lowers the seat and makes it simpler to put your feet down. Notably, the bike already has a semi-active electronic Showa monoshock. As per Triumph, the motorbike is simpler to balance & manage at low speeds because of the reduced centre of gravity.

The basic seat height can be changed between 850 mm & 87 0mm on the GT variant line (GT, GT Pro & GT Explorer). In addition, the height can be further changed between 875 mm & 895 mm on the Rally version line. The least feasible seat heights for the two variation lines are 830 mm & 855 mm. The credits to this innovative feature allowing for a maximum further 20 mm of seat height reduction.

The seat's greatest height may descend up to 20mm, depending on the rider's weight, pillion & luggage carried on board. Similar functionality is available in the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 under ARH (Adaptive Ride Height). This feature again lowers the preload and the seat height when the bike is stopped. The Tiger requires the rider to push the Home button on the switch left cube for one second to lower the seat. In contrast, the Harley system works automatically.
