Triumph Speed 400 vs Triumph Speed T4: Competition Check!

Triumph has launched the Speed T4, its most affordable motorcycle in India. This bike is based on the popular Speed 400, which has also received some updates. The Speed T4 is priced at Rs 2.17 lakh, which makes it a cheaper option compared to the Speed 400.  

which costs Rs 2.34 lakh. Both bikes share many features but have some key differences in components, performance, and price.  

This comparison looks at how these two bikes compete and which one might be a better choice for different types of riders.  
 

How Does Triumph Speed 400 & Triumph Speed T4 Look?

Triumph Speed 400 and Speed T4 are two stylish bikes. Both have a modern look with clean lines and sharp angles. The bikes have a strong fuel tank and a sporty back. The Speed 400 and T4 have a classic round headlight.   
 

Moreover, both bikes offer a comfortable riding position and have good-quality parts. The Speed 400 comes in Racing Yellow, Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black, and Racing Red. On the other hand, the Speed T4 is available in White, Red, and Black.  
 

Triumph Speed 400 vs Triumph Speed T4: Engine Performace

Triumph Speed 400 has a 398.15cc, liquid-cooled engine. It makes 39.5bhp @ 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm @ 6,500rpm. The engine is fun to rev and offers a top speed of 170 Kmph. It has a 13-litre fuel tank and provides a mileage of 34 Kmpl.   
 

Meanwhile, the Triumph Speed T4 is made for riders who want an easier and more relaxed ride. Its engine is based on the Speed 400 but makes 30.6bhp @ 7,000rpm and 36Nm @ 5,000rpm. Triumph says the Speed T4 is better for riding in the city because its engine gives good power at low speeds. Almost 85% of torque is available from just 2,500 rpm. Apart from this, it comes with a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres and offers 35 Kmpl mileage.   
 

Triumph Speed 400 vs Triumph Speed T4: Features & Specifications 

One big difference between the Triumph Speed 400 and Speed T4 is the front suspension. The Speed 400 has a more premium USD fork with gold-coloured outer tubes. On the contrary, the Speed T4 has a simpler right-side-up telescopic fork.   
 

Moreover, the Speed T4 uses MRF Zapper bias-ply tyres, while the Speed 400 has Vredestein radial tyres. The radial tyres on the Speed 400 also have a higher profile. Additionally, the Speed T4 does not come with a traction control system, which is a feature found in the Speed 400.
