The newly launched Jawa 42 FJ bike has several exciting features that make it stand out. From its stylish neo-retro look to advanced hardware and new features, the 42 FJ is designed to impress. These key aspects make the 42 FJ a noteworthy addition to the Jawa lineup. In this article, we’ll explore the top five highlights of the Jawa 42 FJ.
The Jawa 42 FJ has a bigger 334cc engine, producing slightly more power than the Jawa 42's 294.72cc engine. It also has a sportier design, including upswept exhausts, larger front forks, and wider tyres. The 42 FJ has upgraded brakes and dual-channel ABS.
The 2024 Jawa 42 FJ uses the same 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder Alpha2 engine found in the updated Jawa 350. This engine produces 28.76 bhp and 29.62 Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. Moreover, the bike has a mileage of 30 km per litre and a fuel tank that holds 12 litres.
The 42 FJ looks similar to the standard 42 but has some unique features. It keeps the classic neo-retro style with a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and squared side panels with the 42 logo. Moreover, the new 42 FJ has a shorter rear fender, split grab rails for the pillion, and black upswept exhausts.
It also has brushed aluminium on the fuel tank for a tougher look. Apart from all this, the bike comes in five colour options. It includes Aurora Green Matte, Mystique Copper, Deep Black Matte Black Clad, Cosmo Blue Matte, and Deep Black Matte Red Clad.
Jawa 42 FJ has a strong double-cradle frame and a wheelbase of 1440mm. It uses a telescopic front fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear end. Furthermore, it has a front 320mm disc brake and a rear 240mm disc brake, with dual-channel ABS. Apart from this, the seat height and ground clearance are the same at 800mm and 178mm, respectively.
Jawa 42 FJ has all-LED lights and a full-LCD display for the instrument console, like the Jawa 42 and 42 Bobber. The screen shows the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level, clock, and other basic information. However, it does not have smartphone connectivity but includes a USB charging port.
