Top 5 Electric Scooter Manufacturers in June 2024

In June 2024, the electric scooter market saw impressive sales from the top five manufacturers. Ola Electric led the market with strong sales and an expanded product lineup. Moreover, it is followed by brands like TVS, Ather and Bajaj. These companies dominated the electric scooter market in June 2024.

Ola Electric: 36,716 units

Ola Electric is doing very well in the market. In June 2024, they sold 36,716 electric scooters. For the first six months of 2024, they sold a total of 2,28,161 units. There is an increase of 1,02,093 units compared to the same period last year, showing an 81% growth. Their market share has also increased from 30.50% last year to 44% this year. Ola's new S1 X scooters, which come with different battery options, have been very popular.

TVS: 13,897 units

TVS Motor sold 13,897 iQube electric scooters in June 2024. This shows a 51% increase from their May 2024 sales of 11,844 units.

Two years after updating the iQube, TVS introduced more scooter versions, both cheaper and more expensive models. The company believes that by 2025, 30% of two-wheeler sales in India will be electric. They are aiming to significantly increase the share of EV sales in their total sales over the next two years.

Bajaj: 8,985 units

Bajaj Auto sold 8,985 Chetak electric scooters in June 2024. This helped the company achieve a 192% increase in sales compared to the first half of last year.

Bajaj Auto sells three versions of the Chetak: the 2901 model for Rs 95,998, the Urbane for Rs 123,319, and the Premium for Rs 147,243. There is strong demand for these scooters because Bajaj has increased production and expanded their dealer network.

Ather Energy: 6,097 units

Ather Energy, based in Bengaluru, sold 6,097 electric scooters in June 2024, capturing 7.66% of the market. However, their total sales from January to June 2024 were 52,235 units, which is a 12% decrease from the 59,319 units sold during the same period in 2023. This means Ather Energy needs to improve its sales performance.

Vida: 3,068 units

The world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer sold 3,068 Vida e-scooters in June 2024. On average, they sold 2,303 units per month in 2024, a big increase from the 353 units they averaged per month in 2023. Subsequently, Vida's market share has grown from 0.51% to 2.68%.
