Simple One offers a claimed range of 236 km on a single charge.
The Simple One electric scooter is all set to launch on May 23rd after facing multiple delays and setbacks. Simple Energy, the Indian startup behind the scooter, began its production, and the first unit has already rolled out of the factory. The company is now preparing for deliveries as it aims to compete with established rivals such as the Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube ST, and newer entrants like the Hero Vida V1 Pro.
One of the key features that Simple Energy emphasizes with the Simple One scooter is its range. The Simple energy One's claimed range surpasses the Ola S1 Pro's 181 km range.
Interested buyers can book Simple One electric scooters by paying Rs. 1,947, which is fully refundable. The full pricing details of the scooter will be revealed on May 23rd.
In terms of design, Simple Energy has opted for sharp details and an edgy design language. For example, the triangular headlight housing is described as neat, and the turn indicators are LED lights.
Initially, there were discussions about the scooter having a fixed battery capacity of 4.8 kWh and two removable batteries, bringing the total capacity to 6.4 kWh. However, the final specifications and features of the Simple One scooter will be officially revealed at the launch event.
The Simple One electric scooter now features a 30L under-seat storage, which adds to its practicality and utility. The Simple One still retains its 4.8 kWh battery, which is claimed to be the largest among electric scooters in India. Simple Energy claims an impressive range of 236 km for the Simple One.
In terms of performance, the Simple One boasts a quick acceleration of 0-40 km/h in 2.77 seconds and a top speed of 105 km/h. It has an 8.5 kW peak power motor (equivalent to 11.3 bhp) and a 4.5 kW continuous power motor (equivalent to 6.03 bhp). The mid-mounted motor delivers 72 Nm of torque to the rear wheel by the belt drive. Simple One also obtained AIS 156 Amendment 3 certification from ICAT for safety standards.
The Simple One is available in four colours: Brazen Black, Azure Blue, Namma Red, and Grace White, providing buyers with various choices. The scooter features a touchscreen infotainment display that offers advanced features such as navigation, music controls, geo-fencing, call alerts, remote access, OTA (Over-The-Air) updates, and remote locking. These features enhance the overall convenience and connectivity of the scooter.
Simple Energy has also promised the One Loop charging network, although the implementation details are yet to be disclosed. This charging network will likely provide Simple One owners with convenient and accessible charging infrastructure.
In terms of components, the Simple One is equipped with conventional telescopic front forks and 90/90-12 tyres wrapped on 12" alloy wheels at both ends. It also features disc brakes with patented combi brakes at both ends. These components contribute to the scooter's overall performance and safety. Simple One weighs 115 kg which is admirable for an electric scooter.
