The new e-Scooters will be available in the coming quarter at an affordable price.
Simple Energy plans to introduce two new affordable electric scooters in the domestic market. As other electric two-wheeler start-ups expand their model range, Simple Energy is also joining the trend with new variants of their existing scooters. The announcement indicates that Simple Energy focuses on offering affordable electric scooters to the market. The new models will be positioned below their current offering, the Simple One. It already boasts an impressive claimed riding range of 212 km on a single charge, the best in its segment.
Simple Energy aims to cater to a wider range of customers by introducing two more electric scooters at attractive prices. The Simple One deliveries have already commenced in the phased manner in which they are being carried out. It suggests that Simple Energy is ensuring a smooth
rollout and customer satisfaction.
Simple Energy is actively working on the development of production-ready variants of their upcoming scooters. The new electric scooters will be faster than before. One of the key goals for Simple Energy with these new scooters is to alleviate a range of concerns that potential buyers may have. Simple Energy places a strong emphasis on safety in the e-scooters. The battery packs used in their existing Simple One scooter and the upcoming variants meet the highest safety standards.
The Simple One is priced at Rs. 1.45 lakh ex-showroom, Bengaluru, and has already received over one lakh bookings. The scooter's debut was about two years ago, but it took the company a long time to satisfy safety regulations. It is considered the quickest electric two-wheeler in the country, with an acceleration time of 2.77 seconds in reaching from 0-40 kmph.
Simple Energy, in partnership with IIT-Indore, to develop a thermal management system for their electric scooters. This system is created to mitigate thermal runaways, which can enhance the safety and performance of the scooters.
The commencement of operations by Simple Energy at the Shoolagiri facility in Tamil Nadu, with a capacity of ten lakh units per annum, is commendable. It indicates the brand's readiness to scale up production and also to meet the growing demand for its electric scooters. Simple Energy plans to widen its reach nationwide by establishing 160-180 retail outlets in 40 to 50 cities. The recent customer reception of electric two-wheelers is promising, with increased demand in the market.
